How are believers supposed to 'learn Christ,' according to Ephesians 4:20?

Ephesians 4:20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!

What’s interesting is the phrase “learned Christ.” That’s not normal grammar. We usually learn about a subject, but Paul says we learned Christ.

I understand the questioner's point, but it can be considered a matter of how the verb is translated or expressed. It would be an equally valid translation of the Greek word (anglicized as "manthano") to say "came to know" Christ.

Aside from that, In Ephesians 4:20, Paul uses the phrase "learn Christ" to emphasize the transformative nature of Christian discipleship. It's not just about acquiring knowledge about Christ, but rather actively engaging with and being shaped by Him as the embodiment of truth. This learning process involves hearing Christ's voice, being taught by Him, and putting off the old self to embrace a new life in Him.
