By my understanding, Abel's offering of a slain lamb indicated a comprehension of the importance of the shedding of blood as an atonement for human sin that God rewarded through His acceptance of it. Also, aside from the blood aspect, Cain's offering of produce was symbolic of attempts to please God through human effort, which (ever since the fall of the entire human race into sin, which preceded Cain's birth) had been (and still is) insufficient for that purpose.

Genesis 4:4: And Abel, he also brought of the firstling of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

The scriptures reveal to us from the time of creation that the serpent deceived Eve and Adam, leading them to eat from the “Forbidden Fruit in the Garden of Eden.” The scriptures reveal to us today that it is the blood that stirs the heart and leads one in their mind to discern their path. From the time of the creation, Adam and Eve were naked and unashamed. However, the serpent deceived them, drawing them to the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They saw the tree as good for food, pleasant to the eye, and leading them to make them wise. This led to their eyes being opened, which stirred their blood, knowing they were naked, they sewed fig leaves to cover themselves. Since they were deceived and were not led to eat of the “Tree of Life,” fear entered their hearts, causing them to hide themselves from God the Father when He called. God the Father then made “Coats of Skin and clothed them,” as Abel’s offering, which was shedding the blood of the lamb, with a cry for their forgiveness of sins. (Gen 2:9,17/3:1,6-7,21-22)

The favor of the offerings is given to one who rends their heart and turns in the right spirit unto the Lord our God. For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil. (Joel 2:13) There was a woman having an issue of blood for twelve years. Despite visiting many physicians, she could not find healing. This woman was led by her faith for the blood that stirs one’s heart, leading her to discern her way. This woman was led by her faith when she came behind our Lord Jesus and touched only the border of His Garment. Instantly, she felt in her heart that her bleeding had stopped. “Lord Jesus reveals unto us that the virtue went out of Him.” The scripture leads us to understand and discern in the right spirit that the “Virtue is the Spirit of God the Father,” who stands before you, guiding you. This divine presence steers the blood flowing through your heart and mind, leading you with the right spirit of faith in God the Father. (Luk 8:43-48)

The life of the flesh is in the blood; when it is offered to you upon the altar for an atonement of your soul, it is the blood that maketh an atonement. Today, all things according to the laws and the commandments given to us are purged with blood. For we have redemption through His blood. (Lev 17:11/Eph 1:7/Heb 9:22) Abel’s offering to the Lord leads us to understand as the scriptures given to us, every clean beast, clean fowl of God’s creation has a cry when offered as a burnt offering. (Gen 8:20) When these clean beasts and the clean fowl are offered, the cry is through the blood that reaches the Lord God, the creator of this universe. The offering that is carried out in the right spirit leads one’s cry through their offerings, for the Lord God to hearken to your prayer. The innocent cry that goes to the God the Father, the creator of this world, knowing the sinful nature of mankind, that they are deceived by Satan. The cry is heard by God the Father, who created this universe for the Lord God then forgives mankind.

Leviticus 17:11: For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Joel 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
