Fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies
Jesus fulfilled more than 300 messianic prophecies, including:

Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14 → Matthew 1:22-23)
Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2 → Matthew 2:1)
From the line of David (Jeremiah 23:5-6 → Luke 3:31)
Suffered, died, and rose again (Isaiah 53 → Acts 8:30-35)
Entered Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9 → Matthew 21:4-5)
Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12-13 → Matthew 26:14-16; 27:3-10)

The sheer volume and precision of these fulfilled prophecies make the claim of Jesus as the Christ compelling.

His life and works:
Miracles and authority (Luke 7:22) — healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead.
Teaching with divine wisdom (John 7:46) — no one ever spoke like him.
Sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15) — he lived in perfect obedience to God.
These point not just to a good man, but the anointed one sent by God.

His death and resurrection:
Foretold his death and resurrection (Mark 8:31; John 2:19-22)
The empty tomb — eyewitnesses, including women (whose testimony carried little weight in ancient Jewish courts), are recorded in all four gospels.
Hundreds saw him after his resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-8)
The resurrection is the ultimate validation that Jesus is the Christ (Romans 1:4).

The early church's bold witness:
The apostles, once afraid, boldly proclaimed Jesus as the risen Christ (Acts 2:36), even under persecution.
Most of them died for this claim, not for a lie or legend.

Historical testimony:
Non-Christian sources like Tacitus, Josephus, and Pliny the Younger confirm Jesus lived, was crucified, and that his followers believed he rose again.
The early spread of Christianity in the face of opposition is historically unmatched—and all centered on the truth that Jesus is the Messiah.
