John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life.

After our physical death our soul/spirit does not die. It just leaves our body. Paul said, absent from the body, present with the Lord.

All born again believers, Ephesians 1:13-14, go straight to heaven when we die. John 3:18.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit in whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

The second we trust Jesus as the only way of salvation apart from works, He gives us eternal life.

First Corinthians 15:1-4. That is the gospel. That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. The second we believe that gospel we are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, given eternal life, and know that when we die we will go straight to heaven. Gods promise to us, and He can not lie.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth

So, anyone who has ever trusted Jesus as the only way of salvation has eternal life now. We just have not passed from death unto life yet.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, (the bad news) But the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Since Jesus died and paid our sin debt in full, past, present, and future sins, Romans 4:7-8, we can no longer be condemned to hell. We have no sins to pay for. First John 2:2 For He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world.

And all those who have believed on Him alone are saved.
