Just my opinion, but I do not believe we are so dead that we can not understand the gospel and be saved. Not everyone is going to believe it, but those that do are saved. Paul said that Jesus died not for our sins only, but the sins of the whole world.

And Jesus said He draws all men to Himself to be saved. What does bible repentance for salvation mean? It is the Greek word Metanoia, or change your mind and believe the gospel.

If sinners hear the gospel, and receive it by faith, they have eternal life given as a free gift. Ephesians 2:8-9 If a person reads John 3:16, and believes it, He has eternal life and can never be condemned.

Romans 4:1-8 At the moment of belief we are given Christ's righteousness, and our sins can no longer be imputed to us.(because when Jesus went to the cross He paid for all our sin), we are saved and have eternal life.

Eternal life means we can never be cast away. John 6:37-40.

Every one gets saved the same way. Faith is not a work, it is belief, it is knowing something is true and relying on the promise made to us by Christ.

Was I chosen to be saved? No, but when I believed, I was chosen because God made the way of salvation, and when I believed it, I was chosen because I believed it.

Jesus said He is not willing that any should perish, but all should come to the knowledge of the truth.

But if we do not preach the gospel, no one can hear the gospel.

What is the gospel. That Jesus was God and man, chosen before the foundation of the world, to come to earth, live a sinless life, and die on the cross to pay for the sins of the whole world, to them that believe, and then has risen from the dead to be the first fruits of us all who believe.

That is the gospel, and Paul said in Galatians 2:8-9, if we preach any other gospel we will be accursed. Those that have accepted Christ as their savior have eternal life though Him who saved us by grace and can never be lost.

But salvation is open to all that believe, and all of our sins have been paid for. First to the Jew, and then to the Gentiles.

If all of our sins were not paid for then no one could be saved because no sin can enter heaven. That is why we all die. All men since Adam have died because of sin in the flesh.

But now we have a new nature given us by God through the Holy Spirit of promise that seals us unto the day of redemption of our soul/spirit. We become a child of God by faith alone without works. Romans 4:5. We are made the righteousness of God by faith alone, even though we are still sinners. Our works could never save us. And our sins are all forgiven.

We have redemption through His blood that covers us from all sin. Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. It is impossible to out sin the grace and mercy of God. He loves us that much. And we can not work our way to heaven. We aught to love Him enough for saving us sinners, that we will walk with Him in light of His word. But that has nothing to do with salvation which is free to all that accept Him by faith alone.

So should we be a seeker friendly church? I believe we should just preach the gospel and those that believe will be saved. Those that trust in their works to save them will be lost. Our works can not save us. Only Christ's finished work on the cross can save us sinners when we accept it by faith alone.

The last thing Jesus said before He died, was, IT IS FINISHED.
After He ascended to heaven He sat down at the right hand of the father and rested. His work on earth was finished. He came seeking lost men to be saved.
