Do Philippians 2:10-11 and Isaiah 45:23 contradict each other? "Should bow" and "will bow" mean two different things.
Philippians 2:10-11 (NIV) 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10 (NASB) 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Isaiah 45:23 (NIV) By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear. Isaiah 45:23 (NASB) "I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.

A definition of the word 'should' is: the past tense of the word 'shall', (Meriam Webster). You could replace 'should' with 'shall' in this case and still remain within the scriptural context of what Paul is saying. He is not using the word as its definition of an optional choice, he is using it in its definitive meaning. For instance, 'God gave man lungs that they should breathe'. Just as what Jesus Christ did on the cross (verse 8)...ensuring every knee should (shall) bow, our lungs ensure that every man should (shall) breathe.
