What does it mean that we shouldn't eat more honey than we need? Is this applicable to not taking more than we need of any good thing, or just some things like food or clothing?
Proverbs 25:16
NKJV - 16 Have you found honey? Eat only as much as you need, Lest you be filled with it and vomit.

Similarly to honey, all delights of this life and world (not just food and clothing) should be used or taken in moderation. If such discretion is exercised, those experiences make life more pleasurable. However, if taken or induged in to excess (including the cost of obtaining them), they can turn that pleasure into pain; producing adverse consequences not only in regard to one's physical health, but also relating to one's material welfare and interpersonal relationships (not to mention the ability to devote resources to the specific Christian duty of assisting others in need).
