According to Genesis 2:3 God rested on the seventh day and made the day holy – the Bible doesn’t mention any other day that God made holy. 

In Exodus 20:8-11 we find the Fourth Commandment, where God says that the seventh day of the week is His Sabbath, a holy day that He blessed. 

So, in my opinion, the Bible makes it abundantly clear that the seventh day of the week is God’s Sabbath, which is Saturday. In addition, more than 100 languages use the word Sabbath for Saturday. In Spanish, for example, Saturday is called Sabado. In Latin, the language spoken by the Romans when Jesus walked the streets of Jerusalem, the word for Saturday is Sabbatum. 

Having said all that, one might wonder how do we know that today Saturday is the Bible Sabbath. In Luke 23:52-56 we read how Christ died on Friday also called the Preparation Day, rested on Sabbath (according to the Fourth Commandment), and rose on Sunday, the first day of the week (Luke 24:1). This Bible truth is being acknowledged by practically all Christian denominations, as just in a few days the entire Christendom will be observing Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. 

As far as I can tell, there is no Scripture that refers to the first of the week (Sunday) as Sabbath or a commandment that tells Christ's followers to keep Sunday holy.
