What was "the pit of decay"? (Psalm 55:23)
Ps 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken.
23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked
into the pit of decay;
the bloodthirsty and deceitful
will not live out half their days.
Psalms 55:1 - 23
ESV - 1 Give ear to my prayer, O God, and hide not yourself from my plea for mercy! 2 Attend to me, and answer me; I am restless in my complaint and I moan.

Jude 11, "Alas for them because they have followed Cain, they have thrown themselves into the same delusion as Balaam for a reward. They have been ruined by the same rebellion as Korah, and share the same fate." No faith. The fate of all who refuse Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Ezekiel 26:20: "Then I will bring you down to be with them who descend to the pit..." The abyss of destruction..,death, the grave or sheol.
