Faith (specifically, faith in Christ) fulfills the Law through its recognition that no one other than Christ has been or will ever be capable of the perfect obedience to God's Law that God requires for the attainment of eternal life. Christ followed His life of perfect obedience by the sacrificial shedding of His own blood, which (because He was both truly human and God incarnate) was sufficient in God's sight to pay the penalty for the sin (that is, the disobedience of God's Law) of all other humans from eternity past to eternity future. This enables sinful humans, through God's grace and mercy, to appropriate His perfect righteousness for themselves through faith in Him. (Paul discusses this in Romans 3.)
