What are "imaginations" that we Christians are to "cast down"?
2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:1 - 18
ESV - 1 I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ - I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away! - 2 I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh.

The Greek word translated as "imaginations" in the King James Version rendering of the cited verse is anglicized as "logismous". Various possible meanings of this word as found elsewhere in Scripture include "reasoning", "thinking", or "conceptions" -- in other words mental beliefs or thoughts. I would say that Paul is speaking of the need for Christians to control not just their actions, but their thought lives as well, casting out any idea that runs contrary, or tries to set itself up as superior, to God's commands, and not allowing it to "take root" in their lives or world views, but instead modeling their thoughts, as well as their deeds, on Christ's example of submission, humility, and obedience.
