I wouldn't necessarily say that "memorizing" verses is required to share the gospel of the grace of God, but it is good to know where to find the verses that offer salvation by grace through faith (Paul's gospel for today) when sharing OUR good news!

From the King James Version...

1 Corinthians 15:1-4: "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

2 Timothy 2:15: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

2 Corinthians 5:21: "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 5:1: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Ephesians 1:7: “In whom [Christ] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

Colossians 1:14: “In whom [Christ] we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

2 Corinthians 5:19: "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."

2 Corinthians 8:9: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

Romans 4:5: “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”

Romans 7:23-25:
23 "But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."

Acts 16:30-31:
30 “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18:
13 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

I believe every Christian should memorize verses for evangelism:

Verses for Evangelism:

God Created Us

Colossians 1:16

God is Good
1 Samuel 2:2
Nahum 1:7

God is Just
Nahum 1:3
Deuteronomy 32:4

God Will Judge
Acts 17:31
Matthew 12:36

God is Merciful
Psalm 86:15
2 Peter 3:9

We Fall Short
Ecclesiastes 7:20
Romans 3:23 (The Romans Road -- “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”)

God Made a Way
John 3:16
Romans 5:8
Romans 10:9 (The Romans Road-- Romans 10:9-10 - “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”)

Christ Alone
John 14:6 (Who Is Jesus? - “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”)

Acts 4:12

Bethany Verrett thought of the verses for God's Authority and The Romans Road.
