I view the cited verse neither as a guaranteed promise of prosperity nor as a command with regard to the distribution of assets, but a statement of general or common "real-world" observed outcomes, with those who, as guided by God, are prudent or wise in their dealings prospering, and those who disregard God ultimately failing to achieve that prosperity, and even having control of their assets involuntarily pass to others.
