There is only one unpardonable sin, and it's not believing in Jesus. Jesus' death on the cross is sufficient to cover all of our sins. To suggest that there is any one sin that is too heinous for Christ to forgive is to assert that Christ's redemptive work on the cross was inadequate. To suggest that any one sin is unforgivable by Christ is to deny that Salvation comes by grace, through faith, and not by works. Salvation is either a gift or it's not. Christ's work is either totally sufficient, or He's not a God worth our worship.

The intention to murder clearly violates God's commandment to love your neighbor as you love yourself (Mark 12:31). The analogy to being gay and a Christian is not correct. It is not the act that defines homosexuality. It is the mind. A gay person is defined by their sexual attraction to members of the same gender. If a gay person is repentent, asked God for forgiveness, abstains from homosexual activities, and invites Jesus into his life, then that person is saved. The renewing of the mind may be immediate or may take years to happen, through prayer, counseling and in-filling of the Holy Spirit. During that period, that person is both gay (being still sexually attracted to same gender) and a Christian. God's grace (un-earned favor) is meant to give you breathing room in the renewing of your mind, away from judgement, so that you can repent and right your wrongs permanently. So please don't take it to mean that you found a loophole and can go out and kill people and then ask for forgiveness later. Romans 2:4-5 Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.

According to 1 Cor 6:9-11, Paul says "that some of you WERE these things, but you were washed, sanctified & justified in the name of our Lord Jesus & by the Spirit of our God." Notice the emphasis on WERE meaning that we are no longer these things once saved. Our past is over. This applies to murder, fornication, homosexuality, or whatever you can think of. So a person can't be these things & be saved cause a person is no longer these things once saved. Will a person still have these temptations? Yes. But like Romans 12:2 says the mind is renewed & transformed. We want to have the mind of Christ.

The question i would ask is the professed christian still continuing and living in the sin as a murderer or a homosexual or whatever sin it may be.Whether they do or not determines whether they are or are not a Christian. 1John 3:9 NIV - No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. In response to "Anonymous" (below) When the Holy Spirit indwells anyone, that is when God takes over. The Lord is the one who gives us the power and the desire to do his will, the things that please him (Phil 2:13, 1 Cor 12:6, 1 Cor 15:10, 2 Cor 1:9, 2 Cor 3:5, 2 Cor 4:7, Eph 3:20, Phil 3:3, Heb 13:21) the Holy Spirit is the one that convicts the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment...(John 16:8). If someone who claims to be a believer continues to live in sin, then it would seem that the Holy Spirit appears weak and can not convict/convince that person to stop living in sin. I don't believe that the Holy Spirit is weak at all. The Holy Spirit can and does instill it's will on anyone it chooses. The apostle Paul is the classic example of that...(Acts 9:3 to :30)...Peace be with you all!

Paul was a murderer (Acts 9:1), but he became a Christian. The simple answer is "yes": a person who has committed a murder may be one and the same with a person who is a Christian. However, is it permissible for Christians to murder? Certainly not! Peter makes this clear in his first epistle: "Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name." (1 Pe 4:15–16, NASB)

1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. There is only one sin that God cannot forgive, its the sin that you did not ask forgiveness for.

A person becomes a Christian when he is baptized. After baptism, this identity cannot be taken away from him. No one and nothing can take that identity, his being a Christian, away, not even sin.
