I believe we can. The Spirit of God that lives in all believers can discern scripture for us that we are not able to understand. First Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man (unbeliever) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him, neither can He know them, because they are spiritually discerned. It is the Holy Spirit in the believer that leads us into all truth. Unbelievers can not discern scripture. That is why they tell us the bible contradicts itself. They cannot discern the Spiritual things of God. Those of us who have believed on Jesus for the free gift of eternal life are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise. Baptized into his family by the Spirit of God. Ephesians 1:13-14. We can ask God for wisdom to discern scripture that we do not understand. God gives wisdom to everyone that asks. Romans 1:16. First John 5:13 John 3:18. Knowing we can never be condemned again. John 10:28-29.
