How do I know if my child is affected with my sins when she was in the womb?
When I was pregnant, I became extremely interested in sex. It happened in two out of my three pregnancies. It was then that I indulged in watching pornography and masturbated. At times, I even had wild imagination that I was a lesbian. All the thinking went haywire and I felt like a lost soul. After giving birth, I felt like myself again. I am really afraid my indulgence in sex, masturbation and porn had affected my unborn children and now, their faith and future.

The whole race are born sinners. It is not our fault we are sinners. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, the whole human race became sinful. We have a sin nature that we were born with. No one has to teach us how to sin. We do it naturally because we are sinners. Born with a sin nature. We are going to have a sin nature until we die. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. We all sin. No exceptions. Romans 3:23. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But Jesus came down from heaven and paid the sin debt of everyone in the world so that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for the ungodly. John 3:18 Believers in Jesus can never be condemned again. Our sin debt is paid in full and we can not go to hell for any reason. Our past, present, and future sins are all paid in full. Romans 4:7-8. If we could live without sin we would not need a savior. So Jesus came down from heaven as the Son of God to pay the sin debt of everyone in the world, First John 2:2, so that any one who would accept his free gift of eternal life would be saved. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, First John 1:8, and we all die, but the GIFT of God is eternal life through faith in Jesus finished work on the cross alone apart from any works we do.

In my opinion, the only way that sins committed during pregnancy could have an adverse effect upon the fetus would be if those sins involved potential bodily injury to the fetus through similar injury to the mother, or introduced substances or micro-organisms (such as through drug use or STD's) into the mother's body that could have a correlation with abnormalities, defects, or adverse health conditions either of the fetus before birth or of the baby after birth. None of the interests or activities described (regardless of how repugnant the questioner may now regard them as having been) would appear to me to fall under those descriptions. They will also not affect the ability of the children to make their own future decisions as accountable individuals with regard to their own spiritual welfare, for which God would hold them alone responsible.

One of the greatest biblical answers to this question is to be found in the Book of Psalms (Psa 51:4-6). In short, no, your child is not affected by your sins, but rather your child is affected by the sins of Adam and Eve. We, ALL mankind, inherited a "sin nature" from our first parents. Look at Romans chapter 7. It describes, even after becoming a believer, the two natures that are at work in us, and by inheritance, in your child. The Bible tells us that we are either in the First Adam (a sinner) or we are in the Second Adam (Christ) perfect, forgiven and received the new birth. Your child is still in the First Adam (a sinner), not because of any works she or, for that matter, you have performed. The greatest gift you could give to your child, is to pray that God will make an effectual call to your child at the point that they can receive such a call. Now in the physical realm, as has been discussed, there are consequences of your actions which your unborn child can be adversely affected by, but those issues you need to discuss with your physician. Those behaviors you described must be stopped. And if you need help, I would recommend counseling. Those behaviors have deep-seated origins and can affect your child. Also, your child will be affected by good or evil environments. Your emotional state during pregnancy will affect your child's emotional state in the womb. Provide your child with a peaceful, loving environment. Sing or read out loud to your child Psalms or other scriptures for the benefit of your child, and it will be for your benefit also. You will find so many reasons to praise God from His Word. Pray out loud, so that your child can hear you pray for them and other things. I pray blessing on you and your child.

Yes, your child could be affected, according to Derek Prince, a very godly minister who has helped deliver thousands of people from demons. In his book, "They Shall Expel Demons", he says that negative forces may affect an unborn child and expose it to demonic influence. The book is very well centered on scripture and infused with scriptural references throughout. His section on pre-natal demonic influence does not have a biblical reference, but is a matter of his 30+ years of dealing with demons. He describes how to expel demons in the book and in his YouTube video, "How to Be Delivered From Demons."

Only when you acknowledge and accept Jesus as your savior, oh, there is joy from the faithful judge. Jesus is all in all, and He is the ONE going to judge us individually. You may say, “How about the infants who died?” Leave to God to deal, and you take no judgment into your discretion. God’s love is bigger, wider, stronger to cover any sin of those parents of the infant.
