God regards sin (that is, human disobedience to His commandments) so seriously that it requires the death of the offender (represented by the shedding of the offender's blood) to pay the penalty for it. (As indicated in Leviticus 17:11, the life of creatures (including humans) is contained in their blood.)

God originally created humans to live forever. When humanity first fell universally and irreversibly into sin by disobeying His command (and thus bringing death upon all of humankind), God in love and grace (undeserved mercy and favor) first addressed this situation by instituting a program of animal sacrifices, in which He accepted the innocent blood of the sacrificed animals as an acceptable payment for human sin.

These sacrifices, however, were intended only as an interim foreshadowing of God eventually incarnating Himself in the person of Jesus, who (because He was both truly God and truly human) could live the sinless life of which no other human was capable, and then shed His own innocent blood through His death on the cross to fully and finally pay the penalty for human sin. 

Because Jesus was God incarnate, the blood that He shed was a sacrifice sufficient in God's sight for the forgiveness of the sins of any human who would depend on faith in that sacrifice (rather than in the human's own imperfect righteousness and works) to attain eternal life in God's presence. This is the essence of the gospel ("good news") message that believers in Christ (such as the woman described in the question) are commanded to share with others, in order to also bring them to faith in Christ.

Because of this sole dependence of Christians on the value in God's sight of Christ's shed blood for the forgiveness of their sins, they are described as being "washed", "bathed", or "cleansed" (as the apostle John did in 1 John 1:7) in Christ's blood to represent the totality of their forgiveness, just as one completely submerges one's whole body in water to clean it when bathing.

Being "bathed in the blood of Christ" might have been her way of saying, "You must be born again," (John 3:3) or if you are already a born again Christian, perhaps she meant that she feels that you need to be wholly sanctified like the Wesleyans teach. This teaching comes from the Apostle Paul's prayer in 1 Thes 5:23: "May the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray to God that your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

The phrase “blood of Christ” is used several times in the New Testament and is the expression of the sacrificial death and full atoning work of Jesus on our behalf. Obviously, the actual blood of Christ, the blood that flowed in His veins, has no magical or mystical power to forgive sins. If it did the Roman soldiers that drove the nails into His hands and feet would have been instantly changed and consequently eternally saved when the blood squirted onto them.

To be bathed (washed) in the blood of Jesus means to have your sins forgiven, therefore, if she was actually sent to you by the Holy Spirit as a messenger from God, the message was a warning to repent of unbelief and accept Jesus as your Savior. 

Since I do not know your beliefs, I will further explain why this message may have been sent.

If you or someone else reading this message are unfamiliar with the gospel message there are a few basics you need to know. The first is that the Bible tells us “The wages of sin is death”. The second is that “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Why do I start here? Because before you can come to Christ, you need to know that you have a need to. 

From these two verses we can see that we have all sinned and because we have sinned, we have been found guilty and are under a death sentence. The next question is “Is there a Way to get this death sentence overturned so we don’t have to die and can live forever?”. The answer to that question is that the penalty has to be paid. The work (sin) has been done. The wages (death) has to be paid. These laws were written by God who cannot lie. Therefore someone must die for you to be able to live. 

Unfortunately, if I wanted to die in your place so that you may live, the Judge would say that unfortunately I too (and everyone else) have also sinned and I already owe my life so I can’t use it to pay your penalty. For anyone to do so, they would have to NEVER have sinned! The Bible tells us that only Jesus never sinned. Therefore this is why “God gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life!”

The Good News is that Jesus was willing to do so. All He asked is that we repent (turn from) our unbelief and believe that He as the Son of God willingly came to earth to lay down His life so that we may have life.

So, if the woman was sent by God to deliver this message to you (or anyone else reading this message), there was nothing weird about it. Rather, it was an act of the greatest LOVE ever! And there is no greater privilege one can be offered than to be washed in the blood of Christ!
