Is it fair for the righteous to suffer with the wicked? (Genesis 18:25)
25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” -- NIV

It is a horrifying event when tragedy strikes, and people die, both the righteous and the unrighteous. Jesus spoke about such tragedies saying the fallen were not necessarily greater sinners because they died. On the outside, in our human way of thinking, such deaths may seem unfair. Was it fair that my pastor died of Covid? But as Christians, we know death comes to all, the righteous and the unrighteous. But.... We also know death is not the end of the righteous. As Jesus defeated death and rose to life again, so too He will resurrect us upon His return. We may think death is unfair, well so does Christ. We just need to trust that He has bigger, better plans for us.

Isaiah 3:10,11 -"Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with Him, for the reward of his hands shall be given to him." 1 Peter 1:17-20, "And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with incorruptible things like silver and gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your father's, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." Ecclesiastes 8:10-17...focus on verses 12 and 13...there is a sharp contrast of righteousness and wicked. Look at Psalm 1, the way of the Righteous and the end of the ungodly. The righteous shall prosper and the ungodly, the worldly, will not stand. We are, every one of us, sinners. When we accept Jesus, we are covered by His Grace. Sometimes what we see as unfair, can be God using His Sovereignty. He knows the beginning from the end. He will do what He wants. But we know that He will always do what is right and just.

Jesus spoke about such tragedies, saying the fallen were not necessarily greater sinners because they died (Connie). She was referring to Luke 13:1-5, especially Lu 13:2-3. Life isn’t fair, let’s face it. But in the end, God will show us why it wasn’t, I believe. He has a wise reason. Jesus Himself didn’t explain “the why” of suffering in Luke 13 but He did emphasize each one’s need to repent. No matter how or when it happens, death is not the end. Jesus promises that those who believe in Him won’t perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). LASB
