ESV - 5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.

I believe we face God's anger when He decides that His divine anger is what we need at a given time. I believe the term "the day of wrath" is misunderstood if it's believed to mean a certain day, a "one-day event" day, when God lines everybody up and "has His way" with the ungodly.
I believe we face God's wrath when He uses dire measures to correct us. I believe God corrected David for the things David did that angered God. I believe He punished others, who were not in covenant with God, for doing the same thing David had done.
I believe "The Day of Wrath" shouldn't be capitalized. I believe it applies to every day we live. Romans 2:5 -- "You're storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgments will be revealed."
What are we to call death in our family? Isn't such a day "a day of God's righteous judgment?" How about if someone flies two planes into 2 New York skyline buildings, killing 2,753 people?
I call such a day 'A day of the wrath of God.' (I used these extreme examples to make a point. If I'd used a person being involved in a "fender bender," my point wouldn't hit home.)
I don't believe God will use His wrath as an epilogue to this life. I believe the estimated 150 to 170 thousand deaths every day on planet earth are souls who experience "The Day of Judgment" talked about in Scripture. I believe it's a never-ending process, going on right now as I write this. The fact that it's "around the clock" makes it a one-time event.

Continuing my argument that the DAY of judgment is an ongoing DAY: (time as we know it, doesn't exist in the eternal realm)
John 5:25 - "Truly, truly, I say to you, and hour is coming, AND IS NOW HERE, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live." (That says to me that the resurrection process began a long time ago. He said it!! 'The dead will hear His call to them to GET UP and they will live.'
Right before He said that, He said this: "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." John 5:24
This chapter, John 5, can be summarized as Jesus being shown to have the authority to heal, give life, and more importantly, to execute judgment on mankind. He stated that the time was approaching when those who were "in the tombs will hear His voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment" (vs 28, 29).
The resurrection began long ago. Jesus IS THE RESURRECTION!! (John 11:25) see previous vs; "the hour is coming, and is now here..." NOW HERE!
There is the resurrection to life and the resurrection to judgment, happening NOW! "The dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live."
He ain't talking about SOME DAY!
Do I need to give a definition for the word Jesus used as to when it would start? NOW means it started!
