I would say that the primary "lesson" to be learned from Enoch would be the value that God assigns, and the pleasure that He takes (as noted in Hebrews 11:5), with respect to the faith and actions of a person who "walks with Him" in the same way that the Bible records Enoch as doing, to the point where Enoch was granted the prophetic vision referred to in Jude 1:14-15, as well as being taken from earth by God without experiencing death. (From that perspective the relatively "young" age at which Enoch was taken could be seen as an added blessing, since he went that much sooner to eternal life in God's presence.)

It also indicates the meaningful role that will be played by such people in eternity, as shown by the common identification of Enoch and Elijah (who, like Enoch, was taken from Earth without dying) as the "two witnesses" mentioned in Revelation 11:1-14.

Enoch was converted possibly at the age of 65 when Methuselah was born (Gen. 5:22 says, "And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah 300 years, and begat sons and daughters.")

He communed with the living God. From that time he "walked with God." (See also Amos 3:3 King James Bible) "Can two walk together unless they are agreed?" 

O let me walk with Thee, my God,
As Enoch walked in days of old;
Place Thou my trembling hand in Thine,
And sweet communion with me hold;
E’en though the path I may not see,
Yet, Jesus, let me walk with Thee.

I cannot, dare not, walk alone;
The tempest rages in the sky,
A thousand snares beset my feet,
A thousand foes are lurking nigh.
Still Thou the raging of the sea,
O Master! Let me walk with Thee.

If I may rest my hand in Thine,
I’ll count the joys of earth but loss,
And firmly, bravely journey on;
I’ll bear the banner of the cross
Till Zion’s glorious gates I see; --L. D. Avery-Stuttle

And Hebrews 11:6 says, "And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (NIV)

He served God by prophesying--the first to tell of the Lord’s coming. Born 7 generations after Adam, Enoch was part of the 1st group of humans who lived incredibly long lives. In Jude 1:14-15, it says, "14And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the LORD cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him."

He was translated to Heaven: Enoch’s Translation is —‘God took him.' “He was not” suggests that his friends sought for him. He was a missing person they could not trace.

Enoch was the only one for whom the funeral bell does not toll in Gen. 5 At age 365, "he disappeared because God took him." (Gen.5:24) But search parties had gone out to look for him. Heb. 11:5 affrirms, "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God." I.e. "it was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying." (Hebrews 11:5)--NLT

And finally, Enoch was commended by GodI know this because the Bible says, ‘He pleased God’ (Hebrews 11:5) --"By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God." See again Hebrews. 11:5-6.

Enoch walked. How did he walk?

1 Thessalonians 4:1, "Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more."

Genesis 17:1, "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me..."

Exodus 18:20, "And thou shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherin they must walk, and the work that they must do."

Leviticus 26:3, "If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments,and do them;..."

When the children were in the wilderness they camped with the tabernacle in the center.

Deuteronomy 23:14, "For the Lord walketh in the midst of the camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore thy shall thy camp be holy..."

Proverbs 28:18, "Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once."

Psalm 26:11, "But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me."

Exodus 14:30, "Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians;" (Egypt a symbol of the world)

Isaiah 2:5, "O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord." Remember Jacob's new name was Israel.

Micah 6:6,8.. "Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God?...He hath shewed thee, o man, what is good; what does the Lord require...to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God."

Colossians 1:10, "That you might walk worthy of the Lord...in every good work, increasing in knowledge of God."

1Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,".... Know that spreading the Gospel is your work. Know that you too walk with God. Know that He sees you. He will redeem you. 

Even living in Egypt, we can focus on God! We know that He is in the midst.
