I would say that the owning of animals as pets (even though they could be regarded as "beasts") in this life and world, as well as actions taken in caring for them, have no connection or significance (literal or symbolic) with the Beast, or with his actions mentioned in the end-times narrative contained in the book of Revelation, nor do they require forgiveness in any sense.

In fact, in my opinion, having pets microchipped would be both a commendable sign of love for them (so that they can be found more easily in the event of becoming lost) and an exercise in responsible ownership, since it decreases the chance that they will become a stray and be involved in incidents where they could be harmed, or possibly cause harm to others with whom they are not familiar.

I don't believe that you need to have any concern about having sinned if you had a pet microchipped. Or about having committed the sin of "accepting the Mark of the Beast."

First and foremost, until the Great Tribulation is in progress and a charismatic world leader is demanding that you accept a tattoo or other permanent mark on your hand or forehead to signify your acceptance of his leadership, the Mark of the Beast does not exist. Second, the Mark has to be upon you. Anything on or in your pet's body is irrelevant. 

Note, however, the parts of the passage about nobody being allowed to buy or sell unless they had the Mark. If we start having pilot projects to microchip people, especially if the chips are for use in commercial transactions, (which I suspect would be a chief point of persuasion of not being able to lose plastic cards or have them stolen), then I would have questions about it spiritually.
