When will "prophecies, tongues" and "knowledge" come to an end? (1 Cor. 13:8–12)
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
1 Corinthians 13:8 - 12
ESV - 8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

I would say that Paul is referring to the state of the redeemed in eternity. The reason that prophecies, tongues, and knowledge will cease or pass away in that setting is because their purposes will have been accomplished, since all prophecies will have been fulfilled, people of all tongues will have been saved as well as filled with the Spirit, and the redeemed will then have perfect knowledge, knowing even as they have been known (1 Corinthians 13:12). However, the love between the redeemed and God, as well as the love of the redeemed for each other, will never end, but will last forever.

It is a period that relies intensely upon the word "perfect", (Greek, "teleios") in that section. The term signifies "developed" in that example, alluding to a development that would happen to the congregation. Then "prophecies, tongues" and "knowledge" will come to an end.
