How did God create the heavens and the earth?
Isaiah 44:24 ESV -Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: “I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself, See also Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sits on the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:"

As indicated in John 1:1-3, God spoke everything in the universe into existence (all the aspects of creation outlined in Genesis 1, with the exception of man, who was formed from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7)) through the agency of His Son and Word, Jesus Christ.

I agree with Tim. He creates by his word -- Psalm 33:6 "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host." See also Job 38:8-11; Psalm 33:9 -- biblehub "God's greatness is seen here in that He made the heavens and earth out of nothing. This establishes the incomparable difference between God’s creation and our creating. The earthly potter has to find his clay. He has to prepare his lump of clay from what he can find. He cannot make his own clay really. In contrast, the Sovereign Potter made His own clay, and God made it from nothing else." -- Richard J. Smit "He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea." (Job 9:8) Regarding the phrase in Isaiah 44:24, "that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself," God did not delegate the creation of the heaven and the earth to an inferior spirit, a δημιουργός, as the Greeks generally taught.
