My opinion is that the masturbation wouldn't be the sin as much as the lust that went along with it, if the lust was not with your spouse. As far as forgiveness, I recommend sincere prayer. All that ask are forgiven when they ask in the name of JESUS.

John 3:18 Believers are no longer condemned, but unbelievers are condemned already because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God.

Romans 4:6-8 Masturbation is not named in the bible as a sin. We do not add words to the bible. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

I will start by saying that the Scripture that has been referenced needs no interpretation. Mankind has been redeemed by the blood that Jesus shed on the Cross for the forgiveness of our sins, past, present and future.

All manner of sin has been forgiven because of His blood that has made the atonement for our souls. In 1 John 1:9, it states, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I encourage you to read the entire chapter.

I am so very thankful that we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. See 1 John 2:1

Jesus is our High Priest and is the one who makes intercession for us according to the will of the Father.

Please be encouraged; you can and will obtain the victory over this sin, by simply putting your faith in the finished work of Christ.

The Holy Spirit has been given to us as believers to overcome the lust of the flesh, the lust of eye, and the pride of life.

I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit that will bring deliverance to your soul and that this sin will no longer have dominion over you, as you yield your will to the Holy Spirit.

It is the Holy Spirit that mortifies (put to death) the deeds or works of the flesh.

The word of God tells us that we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. See Romans 8:37; I encourage you to read chapters 6, 7 & 8.

Lastly, do not allow the devil, who is the accuser of the brethren, to bring you under a spirit of condemnation. You have already been forgiven, stand on the promises of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the power to overcome this sin, believe that it's already done and you will see victory in your life!
