It is a mistake to think that Jesus Christ will have a literal, thousand-year-long, physical reign on the earth sometime in the future. The thousand years mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6 is symbolic, and not a literal period of time. Christ's reign during the millennium is spiritual and has already begun. (Luke 17:21) It started with his first coming and will end with his second coming. We are in the millennial kingdom now, which is the age of the church. After this age, Christ will return in final judgment and establish a permanent reign in the new heaven and new earth. So in answer to the question: No, there are no animal sacrifices during the millennial kingdom, because that is happening right now. Regards Philip

Hebrews 10:1-18 clearly declares that Jesus is the final sacrifice for sin to those that believe in Jesus. Jesus also declared it on the cross when he said, "It is finished." Another proof was that the curtain in the temple of God that led to the Holy of Holies was torn from the top to the bottom when Jesus gave up his spirit on the cross. God's spirit tore it while leaving the temple for good. Matthew 27:51 Only the high priest could enter there and even then a rope was tied to his ankle in case he was struck dead for not having purified himself before entry. The rope was for pulling out his dead body. He also had little bells on his robes to signify that he was alive while servicing the Holy of Hollies. Exodus 28:35 (Rope) (Bells) God's presence had left the temple forever. It was a sign that the old covenant was finished and the new covenant had begun. The time of the gentiles had begun, a sign Jesus was the Messiah that the Jews demanded to be crucified. All races of people can now be saved from judgment, hell-fire and damnation through Jesus Christ for those who believe. No more bloody sacrifices for sin are necessary. Although there are Jews in Jerusalem today who want to revive this practice, it would be done in vain because it is no longer a part of God's plan to save a remnant of mankind. Without Jesus there is no redemption. There is no salvation by any other name but Jesus. Period! Amen!

Animal sacrifices The curse removed from the ground and the lower animals relieved from oppression and cruelty. No more animals to be slaughtered Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. It is argued, that every part of the context may be explained consistently with this view. The passage is supposed to present a very bold and beautiful instance of the figure called prosopopoeia, BY WHICH THINGS INANIMATE ARE INVESTED WITH LIFE AND FEELING, a figure which is indeed very common in Scripture, and which we need not be surprised to find in this place, amid so much that is grand and elevating; Joe_1:10, Joe_1:20; Jer_12:4; Isa_24:4, Isa_24:7. According to this interpretation of κτίσις ktisis then, the general sense of the apostle may be thus given. The whole irrational creation is interested in the future glory of the sons of God, and is anxiously waiting for it. For then the curse will be removed from the very ground, and the lower animals relieved from oppression and cruelty. The very creation, on account of the sin of man, has been subjected to the curse, and has become “vain” or useless in regard to the original design of it, having been made subservient to the evil purposes and passions of man. This state of subjection to vanity is not willing, but by restraint. Violence is imposed, as it were, on external nature. But this shall not continue. There is hope in the heart of the subject world, that ὅτι hoti it shall be delivered from this bondage, and participate in the liberty of the children of God. This representation may seem strange and unusual, but “we know” certainly, adds the apostle, that it is so; that “the whole creation πᾶσα ἡ κτίσις pasa hē ktisis, groaneth and travaileth in pain throughout every part. Even we, who are saints of God, and have been favored with the earnests of future bliss, feel the general oppression, and groan within ourselves, while we wait for the period of deliverance, in which the very body shall be ransomed from the grave and fashioned like unto Christ’s glorious body.) argument requires us to understand this illustration of them, unless we are compelled not to understand it thus by the proper laws of interpreting words. Yes, there will indeed be sacrifices in the Millennium—and they will NOT merely be memorials, although they will likely include this memorial aspect. Essentially they will do the exact same thing they did thousands of years ago: provide a remedy to wash away ritual impurity from the Sanctuary of the LORD and from the worshippers who approach him. And for those who have genuine faith in Messiah, besides providing purification of the flesh so that they can approach the Sanctuary, the sacrifices will also assure them that Yeshua’s death cleansed them of both ritual as well as spiritual impurity. We must understand that atonement takes place on two levels: the earthly/temporal, and the heavenly/eternal. The sacrificial system of old did not compete with Yeshua (Jesus). On the contrary, it complimented Yeshua’s eternal sacrifice. The sacrifices did indeed purify the flesh/temporal/earthly level, and Yeshua’s sacrifice did indeed cleanse the conscience from dead works (eternal/heavenly level): Hebrews 9:13, 14 explicitly teaches this: “For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.” Also remember Paul and those men under a vow in Acts 21:23, 26? James tells Paul to go with the men into the Temple to complete their vow and to purify himself along with them. Purify himself? But if Paul is already ritually pure in Yeshua, why does he have to “purify” himself with these men? (“…We have four men who are under a vow; take these men and purify yourself along with them…”) The answer is obvious, James, like the writer to the book of Hebrew, like the writer of Leviticus, understood purification/atonement on two complimentary levels. The animal sacrifices conveyed both a temporal and an eternal message to the participants. The older idea that “atonement” was only a “temporary fix” for sins for those who lived in the time before the coming of our Messiah must be abandoned. The idea of atonement as portrayed in the Scriptures encompasses both a temporal aspect as well as an eternal one. Conclusion: The sacrifices, performed with a genuine heart of repentance, afforded real-life forgiveness, but only to the purification of the flesh and purification of the Temple; only the eternal blood of the Perfect Sacrifice—to which the animals pointed—could allow for purity in both body and soul. The two working together was the optimal view in God’s perspective.
