After death, how many judgements are there?
My priest says there are multiple judgments, which is why we pray for the dead.

No prayers that Christians can offer can affect the fate of the deceased. Their eternal state is sealed at the moment of their deaths, based on their faith (or lack of faith) in Christ when they die. With respect to the views of the priest cited in the question, the priest (by my understanding or interpretation) may have been referring to a "particular" judgment that affects the individual personally and privately at time of death, and a final judgment that will occur at the close of the age, when the particular judgments that have been rendered by God all through history will be vindicated (or shown to have been just) in a visible, public manner to the satisfaction of all (both the saved and the lost). However, neither judgment involves or offers any "second chance" to change the eternal destiny of a deceased person, either on the part of the deceased individual, or through prayers offered by survivors on the deceased individual's behalf.
