Why would Tamar beg a man like Amnon to marry her? (2 Samuel 13:13)

13 And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.

It is my firm belief that the beautiful Tamar was attempting to buy time, to cool down her half brother's lust for her. Had he truly loved her, he would have listened to her reasoning and gone to King David his own Father and asked for her hand in marriage. King David may not have granted it, due to the incestuous nature of the union, but at least Tamar would have avoided being raped at that moment.

Ammon, being the cad he was, never loved her but was instead filled with lust! This is evident from the scriptures that after he raped her, he hated he with GREATER intensity he professed to love her with! Emphasizing greater!
ISam 13:15

What does this story tell us as Christian's today?

1. The world sees us a beautiful and desirable because we have the Love of Christ in us. Make no mistake it is not you... but Christ in you!

2. Demons and devils jump on people in the world to take down Christian's, to make us lose our Virginity before God!
Rev.14:4

3. They will try, do, say, play, act, or be anything to get us in bed with them.. we have lost our Virginity to God. Now, they hate us with an intensity worse than they ever pretended to love us! Why?

4. It was only lost against the Light of Christ in us. Now that we have turned from that Light, they hate us too!
We are no longer virgins!

I pray this has opened your eyes, to the spiritual warfare around us.
Paul said we wrestle not against flesh and blood.. but against spiritual wickedness in high places that work to being down God's Holy people!

Be vigilant, be watchful, be prayerful, stay covered in the Blood of our Champion, The LORD Jesus Christ!

Be Blessed
