In the sequential order of their relevance to the presentation of the gospel message, I would choose:

Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:23; James 2:10 (We are all sinners. Our most righteous deeds from a human standpoint are worthless in God's eyes because He demands the holy perfection that He possesses, which no one can achieve.)

Romans 6:23 (There is a penalty associated with that sinful condition.)

John 3:16-18 (What God did out of love to address that situation)

Romans 5:8 (We don't already have to be perfect (righteous) to be saved.)

2 Corinthians 5:21 (God lays our sin on Christ, and transfers His righteousness to us.)

1 Corinthians 15:20-22 (Jesus' resurrection from the dead validated His claims about Himself, as well as the adequacy of His atoning death.)

Ephesians 2:8-10 (Salvation is not the result of our own works.)

John 14:6 (Jesus' own declaration that He is the only way of salvation.)

Romans 10:9-10 (The process of appropriating salvation for yourself.)
