The question of whether God loves us - personally and individually - is common. Surrounded by the conditional love of finite humanity, we cannot easily comprehend that God would love us. We know ou...

You can be sure that God loves you because God is love. God creates every single human being, and He loves His creation. But there is bad news that must be understood in order to understand the Good News of God's love that He sent Himself as Jesus Christ to demonstrate His love for His people. God loves perfectly, and He has wrath. He hates sin (sinners) because He is Holy, Holy, Holy, the Lord God Almighty. He doesn't tolerate sin. Psalm 7:11 says that God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day. So what does God think about you as your question asks? The Bible tells us of His full character and that is just one reason why we need to read it to know God. Also, if you read the classic book Knowing God by J I Packer you can learn about His full character ie. Majestic, only wise, truthful, love, grace, judgment, wrath, goodness and severity and jealous. The bad news is that though He has loved you to create you, nothing you do(try to earn His love) makes Him love you any more or less. The Bible says that all have sinned. The Bible says that no one seeks to know God. It says that even those things we do that we think are good are just filthy rags to Him. The only way to get out of this position with God is to have faith in Jesus being the only way to change from the position of being hated by God because of being a sinner to being loved by God as a forgiven child.1 John 3:1 See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. There is a difference between the love of God for all His creation and the love that He has for His children. The love that He has for His children is the intimate relationship of a perfect Father's love. Before a person knows the Father, Son and Holy Spirit personally the only love they have from God is His universal love of sending Jesus.Once a person has surrendered and turned from their sin, they know the Father's love in an entirely new way which is called being "born again" (John 3) The way to know if you are in this position with God is to ask yourself how much you love Him? Jesus said that if you love Him you will obey His commands (John 14:15) Faith in God is proven by how much you love Him. Jesus said the Greatest Commandment is to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and to love others. (Matthew 22). If you have become a child a God you will love God as number one in your life and that is how you will know if God loves you. If you love God because He first loved you, you will love other people too. (1 John 4:19) In John 17, we have Jesus' prayer to His Father about those who are God's children. He was not praying for the world (the created people) but for those who are God's "special" creation that God gives to Jesus as God's children. Love for Jesus proves our love for God. Our love for God's Word proves our love of God. His Word proves HIs love for us which is really a love book for us to read, know His love and obey because of our love. 1 John 2:5 But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Exodus 20:6 But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. 1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 1 John 4:17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. So we can know if God loves us, if we love Him and love others. If we don't love others with God's love inside us, we cannot love God. 1 John 4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?
I’m going to try to make a long story short. I was raised in the house with 2 parents and a host of siblings and cousins. There were so many children in the house that I would often say out loud that I wish that I was the only child. I have always been very bright academically therefore I brought in good grades but because my other siblings were a little disruptive in school my grades became unrecognizable or no accolades were given for my effort. I was young and naive and as I got older I began looking for love in all of the wrong places. And sure enough I got a lot of boyfriends but no love, at least not the love I longed for. I got married for the wrong reasons and finally the Lord Jesus set me up to experience a love that I cannot explain. I always wanted to be loved independent of anyone else’s presence. One day I visited a friend's church and the pastor, who did not know me at all, stopped his sermon and looked at me and said, "Young lady in the black dress, would you please stand?" I stood and he said, "Did you know that the Lord loves you?" I was dumbfounded. No one, and I mean no one, knew but God that I wanted to be loved by him independently of John 3:16. I said back to the pastor “You mean he loves me all by myself”. He said yes, and he also stated that if I was the only person on the earth that Jesus would still have come and died just for me. That moment changed my life. It’s been 30 years since that time and I am madly in love with the Lord Jesus and I know that he is with me. I suggest reading the gospels where Jesus healed and interacted with people one on one to build up your love confidence in the Lord. Case in point: when the woman with the issue of blood touch his garment in Luke 8:43-48. Many people were pulling and grabbing on him; however her touch grabbed his attention and he singled her out. The Syrophoenician woman in Mark 7:25-30 came to him to heal her daughter. Jesus told her that it wasn’t lawful for him to bless her; however her persistence made him single her out and heal her child. Remember Jesus and God are one. He stated that "I and my father are one," John 10:30. Christianity is a personal walk with you and the Lord Jesus and if you are feeling a little unloved or you want the Lord to display a little attention or affection on you personally and or intimately, all you have to do is ask him. I often tell people that God is the only deity/being that you have as much of as you like and there would never be any lack of love for anyone else.
With all of the very purpose GOD, The Father, sent His one and only Begotten SON to Save "all of whom have called upon The LORD to save their very souls, will be saved"! *** JOHN 3:16.... GOD'S ETERNAL PROMISE! *** My very short and "on-point" simple answer! --ANDY--
God loves us so much that "For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son for who so ever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life living with Him". The Creator, the God of the Universe died for us, because He is love. See John 316.
THE BIBLE SAYS GOD HATES SINNERS, NOT JUST THE SIN: Leviticus 20:23: “And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nations which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I ABHORRED THEM.” Leviticus 26:14-30: “If ye will not hearken unto Me, and will not do all these commandments; And if ye shall despise My statutes, or if your soul abhor My judgments, so that ye will not do all My commandments, but that ye break My covenant, I also will do this to you... [send plagues, famine, drought, destructive armies, wild beasts who shall devour your children, pestilence, captivity in a cruel land...] And if ye will not for all this hearken unto Me, but walk contrary to Me; Then I WILL WALK CONTRARY TO YOU IN FURY... I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols, and MY SOUL SHALL ABHOR YOU.” Deuteronomy 18:12 “For all that do these things are an ABOMINATION TO THE LORD, and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” Deuteronomy 25:16: “...ALL THAT DO UNRIGHTEOUSLY ARE AN ABOMINATION UNTO THE LORD.” Deuteronomy 28:62-63: “Because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God... it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will the Lord will REJOICE OVER YOU TO DESTROY YOU, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.” (In Deuteronomy 27, 28, and 29, 124 CURSES are promised upon the Jews who refused to obey God’s commandments.) Deuteronomy 32:16-20: “They provoked Him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations they provoked Him to ANGER... And when the Lord saw it [people sacrificing to devils - v.17], HE ABHORRED THEM...” Psalm 2:4-9: “The Lord that sits in the heavens shall LAUGH [at rebellious men]: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall He speak unto them in His WRATH, and VEX THEM IN HIS SORE DISPLEASURE... [and Christ shall] break them with a rod of iron: Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.” Psalm 5:5-6: “The foolish shall not stand in Thy sight: THOU HATEST ALL WORKERS OF INIQUITY. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing (lies): THE LORD WILL ABHOR THE BLOODY AND DECEITFUL MAN.” Psalm 7:11-13: “...God is ANGRY with the wicked every day. If he turn not, He will whet His sword; He hath bent His bow, and made it ready. He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; He ordaineth His arrows against the persecutors.” Psalm 10:3: “For the wicked... blesseth the covetous, WHOM THE LORD ABHORRETH.” Psalm 11:5-7: “The Lord trieth the righteous: but THE WICKED AND HIM THAT LOVETH VIOLENCE HIS SOUL HATETH. Upon the wicked He shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness...” Psalm 50:22: “Now consider this, ye that forget God, LEST I TEAR YOU IN PIECES, AND THERE BE NONE TO DELIVER.” Psalm 78:59: “When God heard this He was wroth, and GREATLY ABHORRED ISRAEL.” Psalm 106:40: “Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against His people, insomuch that HE ABHORRED HIS OWN INHERITANCE.” Proverbs 3:32-33: “For the froward is an ABOMINATION TO THE LORD... The CURSE OF THE LORD is in the house of the wicked: but He blesseth the habitation of the just.” Proverbs 6:16-19: “These six things doth THE LORD HATE: yea, seven are AN ABOMINATION TO HIM... A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among the brethren.” Proverbs 16:5: “Every one that is proud in heart is an ABOMINATION TO THE LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.” Proverbs 17:5: “He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are ABOMINATION TO THE LORD.” Proverbs 22:14: “The soul of strange women is a deep pit: HE THAT IS ABHORRED OF THE LORD shall fall therein.” Etc...
God loves you so much that He took your punishment for every sin you committed. He paid for it so that you would never have to. He loves you so much that He died for you. Now, the question is answered: God loves you more than you will ever know. The real question that remains is, “Do you love Him? Do you really love Him enough to give your life totally to Him? Do you really love Him enough to show it everyday? Do you really love Him enough to leave the world behind and follow Him? Do you really love Him enough to go out and make disciples by spreading the good news of the gospel to all your friends and neighbours?” Now is the time, and today is the day to prove “yes” you really do love and appreciate Him.
You are secure in your relationship with God: Nothing can separate you from God’s love. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?... No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below — indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35, 37-39 NLT) cru From this wonderful love of God in Christ Jesus, nothing in heaven or earth or hell, created or uncreated or to be created, shall be able to separate us (Rom 8:37 f). William Evans I love the song lyrics, "The love of Christ is rich and free; Fixed on His own eternally; Nor earth, nor hell, can it remove; Long as He lives, His own He’ll love." A modern-day Scripture song that you can listen to is by Amy Treadwell Toy: Romans 8:38-39a (NLT) - Bible Song | Nothing Can Ever Separate Us From God's Love
Certainly, yes God does love us if we love Jesus and obey what He commands us (John 14: 15-18; Deuteronomy 28 :1-14). Once we know God loves us, we should beware that we are having a covenant with God and not to betray and disobey it, otherwise we will be cursed (Deuteronomy 28: 15-46;) and condemned (John 3: 16-18).
