I would say that we seek the kingdom of God by submitting ourselves to God's rule through obedience to His commands as revealed in the Bible, and (since we are not capable in this life of achieving by ourselves the perfect obedience and sinless perfection that God requires (Matthew 5:48)) by having His righteousness imputed to us through faith in Christ for our eternal salvation.

I think that to understand the Kingdom of God, or the identical Kingdom of Heaven, we must first define it.

Heaven has existed eternally. The Eternal Kingdom of God has existed eternally. To have a kingdom, there must be a ruler or king. God has eternally been the ruler or King of the Kingdom. Eternally, this has included all 3 manifestations of the Trinity.

The Current Kingdom or God (or Earthly KOG, Present KOG):
When Jesus came to earth, he brought with Him the full manifestation of the Father and Holy Spirit. I.e. "In Him dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." He presented a very clear choice to accept Him or reject Him. To fully surrender to Him as King and commit our lives to Him is the very essence of salvation. So the first part of the present Kingdom of God on Earth is to be saved, i.e. give him total Lordship of our lives. Other words used in definitions of the Kingdom of God include the words, "The working of God in the hearts of man." Or, "The ability of the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of man." He has the ability to fully work in our hearts when we fully surrender to Him.

Then there is the future Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven. The Bible tells us that there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth. In that new creation, He will continue to work in our hearts. Some of the ways that this can be accomplished is that there will be total surrender to Him and no resistance or distractions like in our present life on Earth. He can give us a full understanding of the effect that our lives on Earth had, through the judgment of works where we will become aware of how every thought we had or act we committed played out throughout eternity.

So, we can seek the Kingdom of God by surrendering our lives to Him and continue to cooperate with the work that God is attempting to do in our lives. This gives Him your full consent to rule your life and bring forth the full and meaningful life that he promised. "Seek you first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." "Seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you." "He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him." Through daily prayer, daily Bible reading, and connection to other strong believers we will best be able to seek Him and allow Him to use us. When this happens, we will have had "all these things added to us."
