"What did Jesus mean when he said, 'No one knows the Son except the Father'"?

Matthew 11:27

I would say that the point that Jesus was making was that, although He was (and is) truly human, He was (and is) also truly God, and, as such, could/can be fully known in His identity as God only by God the Father, with whom He has shared His divine nature from eternity past. The finite human mind is not capable of truly comprehending (or even beholding) God in His infinite glory, knowledge, and power. (As God said to Moses in Exodus 33:20, "No one may see me and live.") It was the incarnation of God in Christ that allows humans to relate to God in a way that would not otherwise be possible.
