The "word" of YHWH is the "meaning" of YHWH. Do a study on the words "Memra" and "Logos" and you will come to better understand of what "The Word" truly is. This will call for some effort on the part of the one who studies, but, what you'll find will be solid, and no one will be able to take your knowledge away from you.

The word "word" can be defined as a single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing used with other words to complete a statement. But in the context of the term "word of God", it is not to mean a single word used with other words to complete meaning of a statement. The term word of God is used to mean a statement which proceeds from God's mouth intended to accomplish a task. So it is not said as to mean a word, but to mean it is not like any other word. For the word of God (who is but all holy and all righteous) comes with power and it is all commanding (Heb 4:12). For a mere word is simply termed as "a word", meaning it may not carry as much authority. But the word of God is used with the definitive word "the". The term "the word of God" means it is infallible, irreplaceable, can't be rivaled. For being the word from God Himself, it will not return to Him until it has accomplished the task for which it is spoken in whoever or wherever it is received (Isaiah 55:10-11). The word of God never requires guessing confirmatory examinations because it is unique in the sense that it is. Yet, away from looking at it in general terms, the word of God can be categorized into three; the Reported word of God, the Live word of God, and the Living word of God. All the three categories are well scripted in the Bible. The Reported word of God This is the word spoken and written by the prophets, the apostles, Theology historians and the scribes. For though it seemed to have been reported and written by mere men, they only did so by the instruction and guidance of the Spirit of God (2Peter 1:21). For no one spoke after their own accord (Isaiah 43:1, 43:16, 45), (Jeremiah 5:14). Thus the reason whether it is written by a fisherman like Peter, or by a doctor like Luke, it is all given the same treatment and it is all to be received with the same respect and hope. For it all comes from the same source and that is God. For in the Bible is God's guidance and command to man. In the seeming literal absence of the person of God, the Bible (which is but His own word) is. Thus to say; we should be silent when the Bible is silent, and we should shout if the Bible does shout. The Bible is the main resource for instruction and the sure guidance for any Christian (2Tim 3:16-17). The Live word of God This is the word of God spoken literally and live from God Himself. That is; in this, God is not speaking through anybody. In this, God is speaking directly to the intended person. There are countless of examples of the live word of God in the Bible. But there are also countless of unreported cases of God speaking directly to individuals. And such people will always say; "the Lord has told me...". But we have to take care about this one because many people have faked it so that they can be taken seriously. Nevertheless, God surely speaks literally and live as are some of the following cases in the Bible; (Numbers 14:28), (Gen 15:13), (Acts 9). (Matt 3:17, 17:5), (Mark 1:11). The Living word of God The living word of God is Jesus CHRIST. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men" (John 1:1-4). Jesus CHRIST is the epitome or perfection for that matter, and the fulfillment of the word of God. For Jesus is the seal of all scripture. Thus it is that Jesus is indisputably God. For the word of God is God Himself. For God dressed up His word with human flesh and called Him Jesus (but for saving humans).

The Word of God is the word spoken by God wich has an Almighty power in creating the universe and all kinds of creature and the life system on this planet earth (Genesis 1:1-31; John 1: 1-4; 6: 63). For the believers and followers of Jesus, the Word of God is a Spiritual weapon system wich should be used for gaining salvation on this planet earth and in Heaven (Luke 4: 1-13; Ephesians 6: 17).

What is the Word of God? I thought this was a good question. The Word of God is the Holy Scriptures and Jesus Christ, the Son of God. They are all one. 1. In the Holy Scriptures, the writers of the Old and New Testaments were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write down and preach what God wanted to convey to us -- His plan of salvation, the Good News. Jesus puts it this way in John 14:26, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." God's Word. 2. Jesus, the Son of God, is also the Word of God (John 1:1-5) who was sent here for a specific purpose -- to fulfill God's plan of salvation. God incarnate. I believe that Jesus is the "voice" of God as He wants us to hear it -- a manifestation of His thoughts transfigured into the person of Jesus, aka, the Word. God communicated with us in a form we would comprehend. He wanted us to know Him personally. Jesus is the heart and mind of God personified as a physical man! He is God! He knew we wouldn't grasp what He wanted us to know any other way. (Phil. 2:5-8 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.) I look at it this way: As a human being created in the image of God, I use my words to communicate the thoughts of my heart and mind as I want to, "I" meaning my whole being. I can't separate my words from myself. My words cannot speak on their own and do what they please. My fleshly words, by themselves, don't even know what I'm going to say next. They are directed by my mind BUT they are still part of me, of who I am. I and my words are one, me! John 12:49 says "I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it." Jesus says in John 10:30 that He and the Father are one. "In the beginning was The WORD; and the WORD was with GOD and The WORD was GOD!" The major emphasis here for our extremely limited "in the flesh" understanding is that before Mary was "with child", Jesus was and is the very essence and purity of God's Holy WORD! ***GOD IS SPIRIT--(Not flesh and bones!) and, therefore we in our extreme limitations cannot even look upon GOD while we are in our fleshly bodies! "No one has seen GOD, but the SON!" Yes, 2000 years ago, the people associated with Jesus in the Holy Land saw Jesus in His 'human form', but we, His children will see Jesus at God's appointed time that He has for our future.*** The other answers are good as well and Praise The LORD that He gave us 'The sword of righteousness' --The WORD-- to read, study, ponder, meditate on, love, dwell, teach, tell others and MOST OF ALL!.....BELIEVE! " (emphasis mine) The Word of God is called the Word of Truth, 2 Tim. 2:15 and as such must not be distorted or changed. According to NAVE the WORD OF GOD is called Book, Psa. 40:7; Rev. 22:19; Book of the Lord, Isa. 34:16; Book of the Law, Neh. 8:3; Gal. 3:10; Good Word of God, Heb. 6:5; and Holy Scriptures, Rom. 1:2; 2 Tim. 3:15. NAVE speaks about the Unbelief in the Scriptures: Psa. 50:16, 17; Prov. 1:29, 30; Prov. 13:13; Isa. 53:1;; Jer. 8:9; Hos. 8:12; Luke 16:31; Luke 24:25; John 3:20; John 5:46-47; 1 Cor. 1:18; 2 Tim. 4:3-4; 1 Pet. 2:8; 2 Pet. 3:15-16; and Rev. 22:19. True prophecy is inspired by God 2 Peter 1:20-21 See also Micah 3:8. God's Word is His message to mankind. The Word of God is true (John 17:17), as Jesus said, "Thy Word is truth." God's Word is infallible (John 10:35). John MacArthur says, "In the tenth chapter of John’s gospel, verse 35, Jesus says at the end of the verse, “The Scripture cannot be broken – The Scripture cannot be broken.” It is like a chain; all the verses are linked, all the chapters are linked, all the 66 books are linked, the testaments are linked, and there is nowhere where it can be broken. There is no place where the chain could be broken. It is in toto the truth of God, true in total. That is what it claims, that is what it demands from us, as to confidence and trust." Thank God His Word is: • Truth—John 17:17 • Eternal—Matthew 24:35 • Living and powerful—Hebrews 4:12 • Life-giving—Deuteronomy 8:3 • A lamp for your feet, a light on your path—Psalm 119:105 • A refuge—Proverbs 30:5 • Perfect, proven, a shield—Psalm 18:30 • Understanding to the simple—Psalm 119:130 • Jesus, our Savior—John 1:14] TTB And finally, God's Word is eternal (Psalm 119:89).
