I would say that Jesus was not just "heaping up words" in this case (as He Himself had advised His followers not to do (Matthew 6:7-8)), but that the length and intensity of His prayer -- involving multiple intervals of petition (Mark 14:35-41), and physical stress to the point of sweating blood (Luke 22:44) -- were justified because of: -- the enormity of the burden that He was going to bear in receiving God the Father's punishment for the sins of all of humanity from eternity past to eternity future; -- His reaction as a true (but sinless) human being (in addition to being true God) to the physical AND spiritual suffering that it would involve (which I don't think any of us can fully appreciate or even comprehend); -- the breaking that would occur (as a result of God the Father hiding His face from Jesus while He was on the cross) of the communion with the Father that He had shared since the beginning (John 1:1-2; Matthew 27:46); and -- His ultimate acceptance of the cup that the Father was giving Him (Matthew 25:42-44).
