How one should respond to the festivals of other religions?

I think that a Christian should become knowledgeable about those festivals to see if there is an element in them that could be used to make a parallel with Christianity, to serve as a possible opening or basis for discussions about Christ. This would be similar to what Paul did in Athens (Acts 17:16-34). The Bible says that, when Paul saw the numerous altars to idols in the city, "his spirit was provoked within him". Nevertheless, he did not denounce the Athenians as pagan idolaters, but used the fact that one of the altars was inscribed, "To an unknown god" as a basis for showing the Athenians that this god who was unknown to them was the God of Christianity. In addition to the fact that Paul was speaking in Greek (that is, the native language of his listeners), he also increased the effectiveness of his preaching to the Athenians by quoting passages from Greek poets (Acts 17:27-28) in support of his preaching, which showed his appreciation of and sensitivity to Greek culture, and his willingness to learn about it.
