Reviewing the background of Mennonites, their belief, and their parallels to Trinity is in accordance to God's inspired word. They follow Jesus, believe the bible is divinely written by the Holy Spirit, and worship God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Mennonite denomination may live a less complex life than others, but there life style is an inspiration to follow Jesus's teaching closer. After reviewing the mentioned title, ""Instead of Atonement" by Ted Grimsrud" the question that should be asked, "define Atonement". Hebrew text defines it as an reconciliation to God, coming back. There is the old argument once saved always saved, nothing can take away our salvation. Yes, this is true that God will never leave us, but we have a sinful nature which ourselves can leave God. Someone who has truly accepted Jesus, received the Holy Spirit, and then turns away from God loosing their salvation, could this be possible? This is a struggling issue, researching the bible, and theologians who have written commentaries on the subject still leaves a divided debate. The one question that lingers, if we are saved why has God given a warning throughout the bible to protect ourselves against temptation?
