How can one mature in faith yet have the faith of a child?

Paul's epistles refer to maturing in faith.

I have frequently taught in conferences and seminars in Uganda and Kenya that you cannot be spiritually mature if you are emotionally immature. A person that's emotionally immature will lean more to the works of the flesh which work against the Spirit of God. In spite of this reality your level of maturity can be measured by the depth of you humility. To better understand this concept we must get a proper understanding of what Jesus actually meant when he said that we must become like children.
Matthew 18:3-4; And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Numerous times while teaching on this subject I will ask a mother to bring up a small child; a toddler, about 18 months old, able to walk but not yet speaking well. The child is still totally dependent on the parents for everything. The child will do as children do, with a pure heart while expecting for his or her needs to be met. There's no room for doubt because when a need is not met the child cries out until it has gotten the attention of one of the parents. Oh, if only we could posses the faith to totally depend upon God and trust that every one of our needs will be met! How awesome would that be?

By my reading of the verses that are relevant to this topic, they say (as Jesus noted) that people must come to and receive God in the manner of a little child -- that is, with humility and a willingness to be taught, and trusting God with the same faith that children have in the adults who raise them for their care, protection, and teaching, and for acting in their best interests.

But, then, having done so, followers of Christ are (as Paul said) not to remain spiritual "infants" in terms of their understanding. They are to continually grow in their knowledge of God; in their conformance to His word and will; and in their likeness to Christ (who is their model for faith, obedience to God, and service to others), thus deepening or increasing their faith even further based on actual experience, and becoming ever more mature as believers.

Do not confuse the size of a child to the size of their faith. A child have great faith. A child will trust and believe whatever you tell them. Until we start to lie to them when they find out there is no Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause etc., or when we say we are going to spank them and never do. That's, when they start to lose their faith.

By time they reach adulthood, many have no trust and no faith in no one. Especially a God they cannot see.

God have given to every man the measure of faith. That measure of faith is called mustard seed faith. A mustard seed is the smallest seed on the earth.
Again we mistake the size, the word said IT IS LIKE a grain of mustard seed which when it is sown in the earth is less than all seeds that be in the earth. But when it is sown it growth up and becometh greater than all herbs
Mark 4:31,32. When the seed is all grown than can we move mountains.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. We mature in faith when we mediate on the word of God morning and evening everyday for the rest of our lives. Once we believe, we will do it, once we do it we will become like a child with great faith. For we will come to.know that God is not a man that he should lie.

The devil lies to us, but it we know the truth which is the word of God, then we can defeat the devil all the time.

Our faith rests on what the bible says. I have no way to prove to you that I am a believer. I can tell you I am, but that does not prove anything. The only way I know I am saved is by what the bible says. It says if I put my faith in Christ alone, that He paid the penalty for all my sins so that I do not have to go to hell to pay for them, then I know that I have eternal life and can never be lost because I believe what the bible says.

If I trusted in myself to be saved then I would be the savior of my own soul. But I trusted Jesus to save me so I know I am saved because Jesus said so. I know my works can't save me. Because the bible says so.

So, if my faith is weak, I need to re read the way to be saved. John 6:37-40 Romans 4:5 Ephesians 2:8-9 First John 5:13 And a host of other promises of God that if we believe what God said, we have eternal life and can not be lost.

If I believe what God said and have received the free gift of salvation by faith alone, I know I am saved because the bible says so. That is the only way I know to know you have eternal life.

If you tell me that you accepted Jesus as your only savior and you have eternal life, then I believe you are saved.

John 3:18 says, if we believe, we can no longer be condemned to hell, but if we believe not, we are condemned already. So if you are a believer, you are saved once and for all and can never be cast away. John 6:37-40 s

Our salvation always rests on what Jesus did for us on the cross, not by our works. What we do or do not do. What we do has nothing to do with our salvation because then our salvation would depend on what we do and we would be the savior. No, Jesus is the savior and I am the sinner He went to the cross to save. First John 1:8 We are all sinners. But Jesus paid for them all and where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. The Holy Spirit is our comforter. John 3:16

Galatians 1:8-9 Thou we or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel than the gospel of all grace to save us, let them be accused.
