We all know the Doom of Satan is predicted as follows:
Predicted in Gen. 3:15 

Accomplished: 
1. At the first advent (Jn. 19:30; Col. 2:14-17) 
2. At the second advent (Rev. 20:1-3) 
3. At the battle of Gog and Magog (Rev. 20:7-10)


The purpose of the thousand-year reign of Christ after the second coming will be to suppress all rebellion (1Cor. 15:24-28); and the final defeat of Satan and his hosts at the end of the Millennium must be accomplished before the earth is entirely rid of rebels. They must be confined to the lake of fire forever before rebellion is finally and eternally overcome. The earth will be purified by fire and made perfect the third time; and the kingdom of God will be universal over all free moral agents, as it was before rebellion was started by Satan and Adam in their respective kingdoms.


God's Purpose in Allowing Satan to Continue until Second coming of Jesus is as follows:

❶ To develop character and faith in the believer (Jas. 1:12; 1Pet. 1:7-13; 5:8-9; 2Pet. 1:4-9; Jude 1:20-24)

❷ To keep the believer humble (2Cor. 12:7) 

❸ To provide a conflict for saints that they may be rewarded through overcoming (1Jn. 2:13; 4:1-6; Rev. 2:7,11,17,26-28; 3:5,12,21) 

❹ To demonstrate the power of God over the power of Satan (Mk. 16:17-20; 2Cor. 4:7-11; Eph. 2:7; 3:10) 

❺ To use him in afflicting people to bring them to repentance (1Cor. 5:1-6; 2Cor. 2:5-11; Job 33:14-30) 

❻ To purge man of all possibility of falling in the eternal future (Rev. 21)

Sin separates us from God and we live in a very sinful world. The wickedness that exists within us is what fuels Satan's power. The Bible clearly states that "we are in the world but not of the world". I believe that the only power that Satan has resides in our lack of faith, trust, belief, prayer and any other area of doubt. Power belongs to God alone and as Christians we must hold fast to the belief that he, that is within us, is greater than he that is in the world.

God gave man the role of ruling the physical world as God's steward and ambassador. In a sense, man was given the "keys" of ruling (not as being our Supreme God). When man sinned, he, in essence, relinquished his role of rule to satan. So satan took charge.

When Jesus died and rose again, he took back the keys from the enemy. Revelation 1:18, Revelation 5:10 

Jesus redeemed us. Once again, we rule when we pray, submit the physical things back to the rightful owner (God), and honor and praise God. 

However, we must remain humble and remember that we are only God's stewards and ambassadors on earth. Matthew 16:19, Luke 19:17, 2 Corinthians 10:8, 2 Corinthians 13:10, 2 Timothy 2:12

Jesus said we would rule and reign with Him, too, in the world to come. Revelation 5:10, Revelation 20:6, Revelation 22:5

Satan is the god of this world because Adam forfeited his position as to his God given ruler-ship over this world. God true to His form will allow Satan to hold on to this position until the second man, the last Adam, Jesus returns to this earth to take his place on the throne of David at Jerusalem with all of his holy ones - glorified immortal saints - us!

At that time one of the first things he will do is have one of his angels bind Satan and cast him into a pit where he can deceive the nation no more.

Unfortunately, at the end of the coming new age he will be loosed to once against deceive the nation to rebel against God and His vice-regent Jesus. This will be done to show that human beings even during the 1,000 years reign will have retain their Adam nature he had after the fall.

However, that rebellion will be put down immediately and Satan and his angels will be caste into the lake of fire and destroyed. Yes I said destroyed. Whatever God has created He can destroy and Satan was and is a created being.

After all this comes the White Throne Judgement, and beyond a complete new order of things to take place in the ages upon ages to come.

What a glorious future we have to become immortal men and women co-inheriting and co-ruling with the lord Messiah Jesus in the coming new age! May that day soon come!

Please consider these verses:

Isaiah 66:4 "I will also choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them:..."

2Thes 2:1-12 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie; That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

2 Cor 4:3-4 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

From this we know that God will send strong delusions to those who don't believe the truth. Isn't this really the same as blinding the minds of those who are already lost (with delusions)?

From the scripture we know that Satan is never specifically identified as a god. He is a prince (of the power of the air), a King of Tyre, and controls kingdoms (Matt 4: 8:11), but he is never in full control of heaven and earth as God would be.

So, I believe that the true God has never ceded control of heaven and earth to Satan. He has always been in control and Satan has only been given the power appropriate to the times to tempt men and cause chaos. He is especially powerful in these latter days or end times.

But who is the "god of this world"? First note that the word "god" here is uncapitalized, but is exactly the same Greek word used for "God" with a capital. Second, the word "world" is the Greek word for age. The God of this age is the true God, not Satan. However, in the next age, the Kingdom age, God will not be doing what he does now to send strong delusions which blind unrighteous men's minds. These types of unrighteous people will not exist in the world (age) to come. Calling Satan a god of any sort only causes confusion among believers, and perhaps encourages Satanism, or the worship of Satan.

To answer this question, we need to read Luke 4:5-7: "The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6. And he said to him, ‘I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7. So if you worship me, it will all be yours.’"

Satan saying, "It has been given to me," here indicates that the authority was handed to him by someone else.

Now, the big question is, who gave him that authority? Below is the answer.

i. God gave Man the authority to rule the Earth - Genesis 1:26-28.

ii. Man gave his authority to Satan when he obeyed Satan instead of God - Genesis 3:1-24.

For the Scriptures have made it clear in 2 Peter 2:19 that, "Ror a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.”

In John 8: 34, our Lord Jesus replied saying, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sin is a slave to sin.”

Apostle Paul also addressed this same issue in Romans 6:16-23: "Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey - whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?......"

When we read from Leviticus 25:44 downwards, we see that a slave is property or a possession of the owner. In this case, whatever the slave has automatically becomes the property of the slave master.

Based on this principle, when Man, the pinnacle of God's creation, the representative of God's authority in this world surrendered himself and became a slave to Satan, he lost his Godly rule and Satan took over.

But all is not lost! 
After Christ's death and resurrection, the Lord Jesus Christ has retrieved back that authority from Satan. Matthew 28:18.

Therefore, it is only through Christ that Man can gain his authority back - John 12:31-32, 16:11, Romans 6:18, Philippians 2:9-11.

This world is interchangeable with kosmos, meaning the natural man of this world. You will remember that God made man to rule over the Cosmos which is all creation (meaning all of God's creation). But when man sinned, the Kosmos world began. The natural man living apart from God came into existences. Remember that man was removed from the presence of God because he sinned. This is world that the scripture refers to when you read that satan is the god of this world (i.e. the god of the sinful word). Our God is still and will always be the God of the Cosmos. Meaning that He is the God of Creation, the heavens and the Universe and everything that exist in it. 
So, Cosmos= Creation & universe. Kosmos=falling mankind, the sinful world.

To become god of this world, it means Satan need to be worshipped by the world/human being; on the other side, human being also has a needs: primary, secondary and self esteem; that has to be fulfilled/satisfied in their life in this world.

In fulfilling Satan's need, human being is the only source for Satan and Satan works hard looking for an opportunity to make a deal with human being to worship Satan by giving human being's needs. (Luke 4:1-13; 1 Peter 5:6-11).

For the believers and followers of Jesus Christ, they are having a good deal with God to satisfy all of their needs in this world and in Heaven(Psalm 100:1-5); for the unbelievers, there is no other way, but making a deal with Satan by worshiping Satan to satisfy their perishable needs in this world, and make Satan as god of this world.
