What to do if you feel like you've "lost your fire" for God?
Can God take away the fire you once had inside for Him because you aren't listening to Him? For example, it seems when you pray, He isn't hearing your prayers, and you lose some of your faith?

i would expect that this question has plagued believers since Abraham. Even beloved King David had moments where he had to encourage himself in the LORD. I personally believe that in our weakest moments, when we are being tested of God (Gen 22:1 or the book of Job) the enemy, Satan comes to tell us that we are miserable creatures. He is right. Without Jesus we are truly lost and undone. Nevertheless, the reminder of this, at just that right moment can make us feel like we have "lost ground" in our spiritual journey. This is where I believe we must have basic core Scriptures in our arsenal to swing at the enemy as a two-edged sword! There are Nine Scriptures our Pastor has shared with me, that I would like to share: Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Luk 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: 1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I can not travel your path. Only God knows your heart. However, I do know that at my weakest points, when Satan was pounding on my head, when I started quoting these nine Scriptures, my enemy fled, my faith had little importance because I realized I live by the Faith of the Son of God and through Him I could do ALL Things! Then I realized it wasn't up to me to work on my heart anyway, that was God's business, all I had to do was keep my nose buried in Calvary. I could rejoice my name was written in Heaven, and that through the Lord Jesus Christ I was justified by His Blood. Therefore, ALL the things I was going through worked together for my good, and I could be confident of this because God started this thing in me. I could never have started it myself. Because He started it, He was obligated to finish it. So, I could easily give thanks in everything realizing it was the will of God for me. Tears of joy, gratitude, waves of peace filled my heart, mind and soul. God relit the Fire as my Praises to Him ascend on High! Be Blessed, Lena

A young lady was having a discussion about this topic with a Pastor. She asked him if he ever lost his fire for the Lord. His answer was that he never did, which surprised the lady. She asked how he was able to do this. His answer, to me, was classic. "I never stop being amazed at Jesus." Test this. Whenever one starts losing their fire, contemplate that God Incarnate came to earth to suffer and die for you. When you wrap yourself around the magnitude of Him and His propitiation, you can't help but regain your fire... John 3:16...“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." Amazement at any of the Trinity is amazement at all of the Triune God.

That fire was experiencing the excitement of your first love. Just like an earthly relationship, it must be watered, non-redundant, you must be faithful to it, and it must be prioritized. Once you slack in any, some, or all of these areas, the fire begins to dim. God will continue to wow you every now and again because He wants your attention but if you're getting distracted with other things you will miss it and begin to loosen your grip unintentionally. Doubt is also a great way to dry up that fire. If you allow doubt to enter and build a home, your spiritual relationship will die. So, to answer your question, no, He doesnt take it away because it's an emotion that our soul generates by the awe of who He is BUT He can reignite it Listen to "Set a fire" by Will Reagan That song lights me up, and dont worry, nothing will snatch you from His hand
