Good health is something we take for granted-until we start to lose it. When our health takes a downturn, we quickly begin to question our habits and diet. God has designed the human body so that i...

Good health, physically, mentally, spiritually, depends on following God's laws, and decrees along with common sense.

What does common sense have to do with health? In Revelation 18:23b it says that in the last days the nations will be deceived by powerful, influential men and their witchcraft, sorcery, enchantments, etc. What is seldom revealed unless you know Greek and look at the word translated as witchcraft, etc. The Greek work is pharmakeia from which we get our word pharmacy. So we’re told that pharmakeia will be used to deceive the nations.

What constitutes health? Proper nutrition. Mere food from the grocery store doesn’t have the nutrition needed for people to thrive. The body can survive on minimal nutrition as experienced by people in POW camps.

To be truly healthy, God has designed and provided us with food that is SUPPOSED to provide us with all the nutrition we need to be truly healthy and thrive. With the close working relationship between the pharmaceutical industry, the processed food industry, and the commercial farming industry, we have seen the nutritional value of food go down tremendously. In 2002, the CTV did a report on the findings out of the University of Alberta where over 60 fruits and vegetables have been monitored for their nutritional content since the early 1950s. Their conclusion was that the nutritional value of food has gone way down in the last 60 years. Three produce items were used as examples: today we’d need to eat 10 oranges to equal the nutritional value of 1 orange in 1952. Fifty-peaches today would give the same Vitamin A as 2 back in 1952. And Popeye’s favorite, spinach, 65 cups would be needed today to equal what Popeye used which was 1 cup day.

To add insult to injury and to toss our common sense out the window, we have been led to believe that vitamins made from things like tar, petroleum, acetone, acetylene, benzene, and formaldehyde are just as effective as God’s design – plant-sourced foods. The same goes for minerals. We’ve been led to believe that rocks are just as good for us as plant-sourced minerals.

Some of President Obama’s people have inadvertently admitted that they feel the general public is too “stupid” to think for themselves in many areas and in particular, our health and in our education system.

God’s design is to get our nutrition from food which is supposed to provide the building blocks of a person’s health and ability to thrive.

The conclusion can be made, then, that all disease, from a natural, God-designed model, is malnutrition. The US National Academy of Science, in 2012, came to the same conclusion. They corroborate God’s design although they may not admit to the truth that God designed it. Their comment was that all disease was as a result of a lack of nutrition, and more specifically, a lack of glycans, a specific category of nutrients.

Back to Revelation 18:23b for just a little bit. Deception comes in many forms but none so insidious as that of controlling and manipulating our food supply and exchanging synthetically sourced nutrients for God's design of real, common sense, high quality food and food sources.

First Timothy 4:3-5 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day, or of the new moon or of a Sabbath day.

We should eat a balanced diet, what ever that means to you.

The Hebrew word for health, ' marpe,' also means healing of the body, but is used in a figurative sense as of promoting soundness of mind and moral character in Prov 16:24. "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." --Alexander Macalister.

Macalister goes on to say, "[The Hebrew word for health,] Riph'uth, is literally, 'healing,' and is found only in Prov 3:8." Proverbs 3:7-8 says, "Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones."

3 John 1:2 says, "Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul." --ISBE

"We must make good choices that fill our minds with pure thoughts as well. Do we read the Bible and commentaries or devotions or tend to scroll too much online? The Bible is clear that we must get into a routine of reading the Bible, praying, and walking with the Lord. 3 John 1:2 – Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

"Another verse on health is again, from the Hebrew word, Marpe, Proverbs 16:24 – 'Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.'"
