How does this "open door" compare to the one in Revelation 3:8?
Colossians 4:3
NASB - 3 Praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned.

The door of Col 4:3 is an opening of heaven that permits the Word of God to be received through the Holy Spirit by believers without delay. Otherwise answers to prayers may take a fairly long time. Besides the word, spiritual gifts and healing may also be imparted. The door in Rev 3:8 is of the same nature, and may in part be a response to the prayers of Paul. The notion of a door in heaven is part of the "early rain" spiritual outpouring in the early church beginning with Pentecost. Taking the church of Philadelphia as a historical period, the door of Rev 3:8 is part of the "latter rain" outpouring (which is greater than the early rain) and perhaps began with the Azusa St. revival in the early 1900's and may continue on for some time into the future. The early and latter rains refer to the rains during the growing season for crops by the Israelites. There was a major rain in the spring and a later one at the end of summer (Hos 6:3, Jer 5:24, Zec 10:1).
