From my understanding historic Galileans were simple, passionate, generous as well as easily excitable and violent. They were simplistic in worship as well as life in general. The Judeans blamed them for neglecting study of their language and further accused them of very poor grammar and terrible mispronunciation that sometimes led to nonsensical mistakes.

I understand the rabbinic fraternity held contempt for all things “Galilean”. Jesus came from the wrong side of town, associated with undesirables, was accused of being the product of fornication, blasphemous and having a devil. He definitely wasn’t a member of the religious “in crowd” and deemed “no good” by association.

The spiritual reason for their rejection was explained by the Lord as he expounded on the prophecy of Isaiah 6:9-10. He had just given what's called the parable of the sower / sower and the soils. After completing the parable the Lord declared in Matthew 13:9 "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." The disciples asked why he spoke to the people in parables.

"He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand." (Matthew 13:11-13)

"And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear." (Matthew 13:14-16)

In today's world if you don't have a degree, you will not be recognized as being educated, even if you studied the same material on your own. Furthermore if you have a degree, but not from an accredited school, you may still not be recognized. With that in mind let's look at Acts 22:3. Pauls education was respected because it was under a respected (accredited) teacher. Jesus got his teaching directly from the Father, Luke 2:40-49; John 1:32; John 7:15-19,which they would of respected if they believed He did.
