Is this in Genesis 4:26 the first recorded prayer from men?

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD (Genesis 4:26 KJV)

Genesis 4:26

ESV - 26 To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord.

Looking at this verse in context, we notice that men began to call upon the name of God.

In Zephaniah 3:9, we read " For then I will restore to the people's a pure language, That they may call on the name of the Lord, to serve Him with one accord." We will worship God with our words given to Him.

I think of prayer as a special time of drawing close to God personally. A time of communion with Him. A time of worship, sharing.

In that thought, I am taken back even further in the book of Genesis. In 2:16, God gave a command to Adam.. We are not told of Adam's response, if there was one. But move on to Genesis 3:9, God calls, and Adam answers they are having a conversation! They are communing together!

So I suspect that, even though we are not privileged to the information, prayer between Adam and God began even before this.
