What completely destroys a biblical worldview is the conflicting messages we get in our society. For example, in my case I believed in evolution and in Christ as my Lord and Savior I was a theistic evolutionist and had a foot in both camps. However, deep down the evolution story didn't mesh with creation as described in Genesis, and that caused some discomfort to me, a PhD scientist. Because if you question the first few chapters of Genesis, then why not question redemption and the resurrection because the two are linked? That is, if there was no original sin, then there is no need of a savior. To resolve this I delved into the bible and evolution big time. My findings are: 1. Evolution cannot happen. For example, one cannot go from microbe to mouse to monkey to man because science/biology doesn't work that way. 2. the findings of death, anthropology, fossils, geology and biology fits in beautifully with the writings in the Bible regarding sin, Noah's flood, the Tower of Babel, etc... The take-home message is: The Bible is the word of God and absolute truth and must never be compromised. If you don't believe that, your faith walk will be wonky as mine once was.

Not to treat the subject too lightly, let me say that a professing Christian is not necessarily the same as a confessing Christian. We are not deemed to belong to Him because of our actions and words but because of His actions and His Word and our relationship to Him based on our surrender to Him, on His stated terms. I really view most surveys involving the term 'professing' Christians with great skepticism. In short if you don't believe the Bible, how could you possibly be, or be regarded as, a Christian.

"Interpretation" vs "revelation!" John 14:26 says the Holy Spirit "...shall teach you all things..." who has "one mind" (Philippians 2:5) which leads me to believe they didn't obey his *last* commandment which was to "wait" (Acts 1:4) for the "help of the Holy Spirit" mentioned in John 14:26.
