Zion an ancient stronghold in the s.w. part of Jerusalem. 1 Kings 8:1,..the elders of Israel appeared to King Solomon in Jerusalem to bring the arc of the covenant out of The City Of David, which is Zion....

In 1 Chronicles 11:5, then David took the castle of Zion, which is in the City of David...vs.7 and dwelt in the castle, therefore they called it The City of David. This is considered another name for Zion - The City of David.

Zion/Sion is within Jerusalem. It is The Holy City. Isaiah 52:1, awake O Jerusalem put on beautiful garments, O Jerusalem The Holy City. Vs 2 O Jerusalem loose thyself o captive Daughter of Zion...

It is the Holy City of God. Isaiah 52:1, Oh Jerusalem The Holy City...Joel 3:17, so shall you know I Am your God dwelling in Zion My Holy Mountain....

Zion is a joyful city, Isaiah 51:11, the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing,...and everlasting joy...and shall obtain gladness..and sorrow shall flee...

God will never abandon Zion. 1Kings 19:31... for out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant that escape out of Mount Zion....Isaiah 4:5.. The Lord shall create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion a cloud of smoke by day, and a fire by night...a place of refuge...Revelation 14:1, And I looked...A Lamb...stood on Mount Sion...Psalm 146:10, praise he the Lord!

Isaiah 28:16, God will dwell with Zion. Praise shall rise from this joyful holy city in Jerusalem.

Obadiah 1:17, But upon Mount Zion shall be deliverance. Joel 2:32, And it shall be that all who call on the name of The Lord shall be delivered, for in Mount Zion and Jerusalem shall be the delivered the remnant whom The Lord shall call...

Isaiah 28:16 behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a Precious Cornerstone, a Sure Foundation...This is Christ Jesus!
