The Bible doesn't say anything at all about this, actually. The Bible never says that those who proceed us into heaven see us, pray for us do anything but worship God.

In Rev 21:4, it says "...there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying..." Don't you think those in heaven would constantly be crying over what they see us doing here on earth? The mistakes we make? The sins we commit?

Some use Heb 12:1 "Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses..." to mean that those in heaven are watching us. However, this is incorrect. Whenever you see "therefore" in the Bible, it refers back to the previous verses. In this case, it refers back to Heb 11 - the Hall of Faith--where the lives of the faithful are reviewed. Their lives were a witness to US to do the same--trust and obey, even if we do not fully understand what God has in store for us. It does not mean they "witness" (watch) us here on earth.

You hear all of the time, "my (fill in the blank) is looking down on me from heaven." No they are not and the Bible never, ever states otherwise.

And this is why we don't pray to people in heaven. They don't see us, hear us,respond to us or intercede for us.

It doesn't. Nowhere in Scripture is this mentioned. This is a manmade myth. Nor are we to pray to those who have died, regardless of what "saintly status" has been assigned to them by men.

If they are in Heaven (only through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to forgive one's sins), they are in Christ's presence, worshipping and serving Him, not paying attention to what's going on down here.
