As a teenager I remember my dad bought me a punching bag, which I hung out in our backyard, attached to the house. I loved boxing it and trying to make it go back and forth as fast as I'd seen the pros do it.

And my best friend, Dennis J., for 13 years (in a factory where we both worked) had one of those body-size punching bags. He loved it and worked out with it regularly. We were both Christians. He's no longer with us, but he is with the Lord now.

The Apostle Paul challenges Christians to fight to win the battle in 1 Corinthians 9:26. He is using figurative language (figures of speech) as the battle is a spiritual one.
