The best thing to do in this situation is to earnestly pray. All the people involved in this circumstance are first and foremost to make sure that the child will get plenty of love and financial security, and to make sure that the baby is healthy. Pray. Pray. PRAY.

How should a Christian spouse handle an adulterous affair that has resulted in a child? This is simple to answer. Yehovah was married to Israel and Israel committed adultery by worshipping many false idols. When Israel repented Yehovah always forgave them. When they repeated their adulterous conduct He punished them, and when they repented He forgave them!. The book of Judges shows repeatedly how many times Yehovah forgave Israel for their adultery and provided Judges to deliver them from their enemies.

Now we are new creations in the Messiah, Jesus, and follow his creed, which is plainly laid out in Mark 12:28-32. We are to love Yehovah God with all our being and love our neighbor as ourselves. When we love others as ourselves we prove to our God and Father how much we love Him.

Now if a wife has committed adultery and a child is a result, we as new creations in the Messiah have no choice but to forgive IF the wife repents of her adultery. IF the wife does not repent but desires to stay married to her husband, then again that is where loving your neighbor, in this case a wife, comes in. IF she continues committing adultery, then the marriage bond is definitely broken and her husband is free to divorce her and is no longer bound in that marriage, and therefore free to re-marry!

All that we do should be done realizing how much our God and Father has forgiven us for all our sins/debts. We should emulate Him in that regard!
