Sickness came with Adam & Eve's disobedience, which resulted in a fallen, damaged, broken, and diseased world. Original sin is the general state of the world (the sin that we are born with, the sin we inherited from Adam and Eve.) Actual sin is the sinful act a person commits (Eve disobeyed God and ate the fruit.) A person's illness can be the result of the general condition of the world (original sin); or it can be a result of personal choices/personal sin (actual sin). For instance, a person who smokes and develops lung cancer is paying the price for his/her choice to smoke. However, there are people with lung cancer who have never smoked. Are they ill because of their own action? Probably not. It is likely that the cancer in this case is the result of living in a sinful world.

Sicknesses and diseases were products of sin (Romans 6:23). And since all man sins (Romans 3:23), we are all susceptible to it.

They also came from Satan (John 10:10; Job 1).

But the good news is, Jesus had redeemed us from all of these (Isaiah 53:5).

So, by believing in Jesus and having a personal relationship with Him, we can be assured that we can live a life here on earth prospering both spiritually and physically (3 John 1:2).

Sickness had it's roots that began in the Garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve being disobedient to God's first "Thou Shalt Not...."

The Garden of Eden was that all encompassing special place made for Adam and then Eve to dwell in God's physical paradise--especially made for them. But, as all Bible students know, Eve and then Adam succumbed to temptation, and....well, "we all know the rest of the story/events". So, because sin was brought into this world, sickness also "arrived", along with strife, pain/suffering, sickness, hate, etc..and...on the top of this list, DEATH! Sin is the genesis of evil and death that began with Satan. Before sin, there was no sickness and therefore, no death.
