What role does Christ’s blood play in our salvation? Since Noah’s day, true worshipers have viewed blood as sacred. (Genesis 9:4-6) Blood plays an important part in the life process, for the Bible says that “the soul [or life] of the flesh is in the blood.” (Leviticus 17:11)

So the Mosaic Law required that when an animal was sacrificed, its blood be poured out before Jehovah. At times blood was also placed upon the horns of the altar. Clearly, the atoning power of a sacrifice was in its blood. (Leviticus 8:15; 9:9) “Nearly all things are cleansed with blood according to the Law, and unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place.”—Hebrews 9:22.

Little wonder, then, that under the Law, any misuse of blood was punishable by death! (Leviticus 17:10) All of us know that when a substance is made rare, or severely restricted as to its use, its value increases. Jehovah’s curb on its use ensured that blood would be viewed, not as something of ordinary value, but as precious, valuable. (Acts 15:29; Hebrews 10:29) 

This accorded with the exalted purpose the blood of Christ would serve. Fittingly, he died in a manner that caused his blood to be shed. Thus, it was evident that Christ not only sacrificed his human body but poured out his soul, sacrificed his very life as a perfect human! (Isaiah 53:12) Christ did not forfeit the legal right to that life because of imperfection, so his poured-out blood had great value and could be presented before God for the atonement of mankind’s sins.

Christ could not take his literal blood into heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:50) Rather, he took what that blood symbolized: the legal value of his sacrificed perfect human life. Before the person of God, he could make formal presentation of that life as a ransom in exchange for sinful mankind. Jehovah’s acceptance of that sacrifice became evident at Pentecost 33 C.E., when the holy spirit came upon 120 disciples in Jerusalem. (Acts 2:1-4) Christ, as it were, now owned the human race by purchase. (Galatians 3:13; 4:5; 2 Peter 2:1) Hence, ransom benefits could flow to mankind.

There are quite many things that we may say regarding the blood of Jesus, but simply stating, one of the key notes is that it is important in the Christian faith because it is through His blood that our sins are ''washed away'', or rather, we are redeemed through it (see Ephesians 1:7).

I believe it is important to note the dual nature of Jesus and why his sacrifice is suffient to redeem mankind from sin and death. Jesus is The God/ Man- The Son of God/ The Son of Man. In His Divinity he is the Word of God, our Creator, whose one life is worth the sum total of all human lives. In His humanity he is our represenitive who takes on Himself the just punishment we deserve. From the Creation the Godhead knew there would have to be a plan to redeem mankind, and it would be through a blood sacrifice. That is the reason Able's offering was accepted, and all the other blood sacrifices of animals in the Old Testament were a foreshadowing of the ultimate Sacrifice of Christ. "No greater love...than to give your life for a friend", but Christ was the only one whose death could be for all men, all humanity, the whole world! 

After the Cross, He went on to conquer Death in the garden tomb, and open a path to all to a Garden in Paradise where death has lost it's sting! 
In Him we see the over lapping of two circles or opposites. God and Man, Life and Death, Heaven and Earth, Love and Hate, Faith and Doubt, etc. In this almond shaped space, Christ sits on His Throne, bringing together and bridging the gap between God And Man and all other opposites. It is right and good we should praise Him! Amen

Sin requires that innocent blood be shed. Jesus is the only man who ever lived a sinless life. (2 Corinthians 5:21) 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. We also see, in this verse, that we're made the righteousness of God by His blood. And as noted by Faustino Ngombo, it washes our sins away (Ephesians 1:7). NO other blood can do this. I pray this helps.

Blood of Jesus is something special. No human blood will match with this blood. All human blood is sinful blood right from Adam, but blood of Jesus is something unique. It is a sinless blood. The phrase “blood of Christ” is a special significance and is used several times in the New Testament. It is the expression of the sacrificial death and full atoning and finished work of Jesus on the cross on our behalf. He literally shed the blood on the cross, but more significantly that He shed the blood and died for sinners. The blood of Christ has the power to atone for an infinite number of sins committed by an infinite number of people throughout the ages, and all whose faith rests in that blood will be saved. 

The Bible says in Isaiah 7:14` Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us).’ Jesus Christ birth was not a normal birth; He was born of a virgin. Jesus birth is a virgin birth. He had a woman (Mary) for his mother, but God is His Father. The virgin birth of Jesus is vitally important because of the blood. The virgin birth means there is no blood relation with his mother. This extraordinary virgin birth was necessary because this blood should be a sinless blood for the atonement of the mankind. Our plan of God is amazing. All human blood is the evolution of the Adamic sinful blood. 

In his book “The Power of the Blood” by H A Maxwell Whythe, he says regarding the supernatural conception of Jesus in the womb of Mary, “ The female ovum itself has no blood, neither has the male spermatozoon; it is when these come together in the fallopian tube that conception takes place, and a new life begins. The blood cells in the new creation are from both father and mother and the blood type is determined at the moment of conception and is thereafter protected by the PLACENTA from any flow of the mother’s blood into the fetus. 

The Bible is explicit that the Holy Spirit was the Divine Agent who caused Jesus conception in the womb of Mary. This, therefore, was not a normal conception, but a supernatural act of God in planting life of His already existent Son right in the womb of Mary, with no normal conception of the male spermatozoon with the female ovum of Mary. As the Blood type of the Son of God was a separate and precious type, it is inconceivable that Mary could have supplied any of her Adamic blood for the spotless Lamb of God. The entire Child’s blood came from His father in heaven by a supernatural creative act of God. Therefore it can be claimed that Jesus Blood was without the Adamic stain of sin. Mary was just a courier. The only thing Mary had in her favour was that she was a virgin, hence proving her status as a “dispatch rider”. Mary is the most lucky and blessed, because of being `the vehicle’ for carrying Jesus, the son of God in her womb. 

God paid a high price for you (1 Cor.7:23), so don’t be enslaved by the world. Whenever you come short of God’s will, apply the precious blood of Jesus on the situation, knowing that you owe the world nothing. The price has already been paid in full. Take authority over your life and walk in victory. 

Let us thank God for the “precious” blood of Christ, the “sprinkled” blood of Christ, the blood of “the new covenant’ and the blood of “the eternal covenant” (1 Pet. 1:19; Heb. 12:24; Luke 22:20; Heb. 13:20). God bless.

Let us see what Jesus says about the signifgance of his blood. During the last supper, the night before he was crucified, Jesus spoke to his twelve disciples at the table. As they were eating, 
Jesus took bread and blessed it, and broke it and gave it to the disciples, and Jesus said, "take this and eat it; this is my body." And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink ye, all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." Matthew 26:26-28 Luke 22:19 Mark 14:22-24. Revelation 5:9 says that Jesus the slain lamb has redeemed us to God by his blood. The blood of Jesus washes our sins away.

Thus to ask; how does the blood of Jesus apply in the life of a Christian? For the blood of Jesus is insurmountable and indispensable for one to be Christian. It is one of the three components which make salvation of human kind possible. Among the three components are the following; the person of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, and the Cross. All these three are indispensable for Christianity yet the person of Jesus is at the center of them all. Meaning without Jesus, blood and the cross become null and void. Yet they are that important so that they are closely associated and identified with Jesus if to make salvation possible.

Yet in general terms, the significance of blood can be traced back in the Old Testament of the Bible. It is so important that it was forbidden to eat it (Leviticus 7:27), (Genesis 9:4). For in blood is the life of the flesh (Leviticus 17:11-14). When an animal was slaughtered, blood had to pour out of it or it had to be collected in a vessel and presented at the altar. As that, besides the beatings and the subsequent Crucifixion, the blood of Jesus had to pour out in similar manner when He was pierced in the ribs (John 19:33-34). 

The blood of animals had been used to simply cover upon sin. Why so? For man had sinned and his blood was equally infested. The blood of animals was sinless and would be an acceptable option to God. Yet animals lacked in measure with humans. It thus required Jesus the Son of God whose blood is the blood of God. The blood of God is pure. Thus to say; the blood of Jesus speaks better than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24).

But further to that; the blood of Jesus is so significant in the Christian faith because it surpasses and sums up all the animal sacrifices which had to be made for individual families or persons every after a period of time at Jerusalem (Hebrews 9:12). With the blood of Jesus, it doesn't matter poor or rich, it doesn't matter wherever. It only matters calling on His name and right away; Jesus Himself, His blood, and the cross will directly apply in you (Romans 3:25), (Ephesians 1:7). As that; much as it can all be said to be blood, and look more or less like so; the blood of Jesus benefits everybody everywhere. It continues to flow endlessly to save every individual who calls on the name of Jesus (Hebrews 10:3-14).

Nonetheless, in additional terms; we learn the following from the blood of Jesus;

It seals and signifies God's new covenant which had been prophesied in the Old Testament (Jeremiah 31:31). This is further affirmed by the writer of Hebrews (Hebrews 10:16). Yet more significantly, the same is confirmed by Jesus Himself (Luke 22:20), (Matthew 26:28). Thus to say; without the blood of Jesus, there wouldn't have been such a covenant.

The blood of Jesus brings God's life in humans and in all this, the pattern of the Old Testament was closely followed (Hebrews 13:11-12), (Revelation 1:5-6, 12:11, 7:14-17). Recall that the blood of Jesus is the blood of God. The blood of God is pure. In opposition though, the blood of man is infested with sin by way of being the offspring of the first man; Adam who rebelled against God. By this, man was counted spiritually dead. Man had been detached from God by sin. But the blood of Jesus makes it that by calling on the name of Jesus, the life of God is imputed on the individual. This is only made possible because of the blood of Jesus (Romans 3:25-26). 

The blood of Jesus is the currency which God used to purchase His people back to Himself (Acts 20:28). For the devil had used shrewdness and treachery to get himself the allegiance and attention of man to himself. No matter what this cost man, it was never an issue to the devil. Yet it was an issue to God. As that, much as the devil had lost nothing to get himself the attention and allegiance of man, God could have never done nothing to get him (man) back to Himself. This required to pour out not simply blood, but the divine blood of Jesus. His blood brings hope.

Well, actually the flesh and the blood of Jesus is a parable and symbol of the Holy Spirit who gives life and dwells in Jesus (John 6: 53-59; 63-65).

Being a Christian means a believers and followers of Jesus's teaching that contents many parables (Mathew 13:10-23) wich is the way the truth and the life for all Christian faith (14: 6-7).

The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Under the law no one could be made righteous because no one could obey the law perfectly. When Jesus went to the cross and rose again, He paid our sin debt in full. That is why we are no longer under the curse of the law. Now salvation is a free gift because of Jesus blood sacrifice for our sins. Past, present, and future. That is why Paul said we have nothing to boast in except the cross.

That is why we love and worship Him. He saves us by His grace through faith without works of the law. It could only be accomplished through His perfect blood sacrifice for our sins. Now we obey Him because we love Him for what He has done for us and not because we have to to save us.

It is a love relationship between us and the Lord. If we could have obeyed the law for salvation then Jesus would not have had to shed His blood for us. So, He paid the whole price. We have nothing to claim or boast in. Now it is only what we do for God because we love Him, not to earn our salvation. All that is required on our part is to put our faith in Him to save us. He deserves all the Glory because man has no part in salvation. Jesus paid it all by His blood sacrifice.
