I understand that the word "gospel" originally represented a reward for good tidings. Later and in the New Testament it came to represent "good message" or "good news".

The four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John deal primarily with the Christ's ministry to the nation Israel, the Jews. Although rejected, the promised Messiah had arrived as prophesied. We have to consider that although told on several occasions those who were closest to Him, the disciples, did not comprehend or understand his death, burial and resurrection (See Luke 9:44-45, Mark 9:9-10). However, after His resurrection he breathed on them (John 20:22) and opened their understanding (Luke 24:44-45).

Although the risen Messiah was first introduced to the Gentiles by the apostle Peter (Acts 10) his ministry was primarily to the Jews (Galatians 2:8). As such, there were many things revealed to Paul that Peter himself did not understand (2 Peter 3:15-16). Paul's was a more complete revelation of God's purpose in the then present and future church age.

The most important "gospel" of all time to all people is the gospel of God's grace demonstrated by the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15: 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time."
Paul's gospel concerns: 1 A Person, Christ of the scriptures In both Old and New Testaments. 2.His death, substitutionary for our sins.3. His resurrection, as the written record of His burial evidenced physical death, the scriptures declare his bodily resurrection, whereby we are saved.

Romans10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

There were several "mysteries" revealed to the Apostle Paul previously sealed up in the mind of God until His appointed time of Revelation.

Mystery of Israel’s blindness and the Gentiles being grafted in Romans 11:25 “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in”.

Romans 16:25 “Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,” (v-26) “But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:”

Mystery of God’s wisdom (1Cor. 2-7)
Mystery of the resurrection (1 Cor. 15:51)
Mystery of his will (Eph 1:9)
Mystery of God’s Grace (Eph 3:1-3)
Mystery of Christ by Revelation (Eph 3:3-4)
Mystery of the fellowship (Eph 3:9)
Mystery of Christ and the Church (Eph. 5:32)
Mystery of the Gospel (Eph 6:19)
Mystery of the indwelling Christ, the hope of glory (Col. 1:26-27)
Mystery of understanding (Col. 2-2)

The prepositional phrase "according to my gospel" actually occurs 3 times, not just twice, in the New Testament (or in the whole Bible, for that matter):

RO 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

RO 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

2TI 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
